Dateline - Saturday. July 31. I gave my daughter the option of going to the Tyler Zoo or going to Shreveport and doing a little exploring with our cameras. Her choice should be fairly obvious by this point since I am not posting this thread in the PETA forums. The photos aren't great at all - they were all shot during the early afternoon in full sun, so bear with me please.

1. - Just sitting there in the middle of a field.

2. - This place looks to have suffered fire damage some time ago. A lawn crew with mowers pulled in behind me while I was there, so somebody takes care of it still.

3.

4. - Originally Hephzibah Rescue Home. It was built in 1923 and in 1947 it became St. Ann's Home for Unwed Mothers. Finally, from 1978 to 1991 it was the Caddo Community Action Agency.

5. - My daughter... stealing the spotlight.

6. - The home is quite difficult to photograph during this time of year. Even with my wide angle lens, you either have to step back and let a gigantic tree block half the building, or shoot towards the front at some goofy angle to get it all in. For sure I'll be coming back during the winter.

7. - Kinda reminds me of Woodman's Circle. similar history too.

8. - "I am glad to see that this building is about to fall down. I was in St. Ann's in 1968, It was not a nice place to be. All the nuns wanted was your baby, they didn't care if you wanted to keep your child." - Bobby J - Former Resident

9. - The backyard.

10. - A typical sight in downtown Shreveport - nearly everything is abandoned... even the Pay to Park lots are abandoned.

11. - A beautiful theatre that's not abandoned, and I hope it never is.

12.

13.

14.

15. - The Arlington Hotel. The last time I was here, the hotel didn't have a front door. You could just walk right in. This hotel has a pretty bad reputation for being a homeless crash site, probably because it is... or was. Now, everything is boarded up with fresh plywood.

Thanks for looking

Wow...Carney's has really gotten overgrown since I was there in '08.

Nice work, but did you explore the inside of the Hephzibah Home?

Thanks everyone. No, I didn't get to explore Hephzibah this trip because I had my daughter with me. The home is in a VERY busy residential area of Shreveport with lots of people outside, and I didn't want to take the chance of having to answer questions to police as to why I had my daughter inside of a building that could fall down at any moment.

That said, there's quite a bit of decaying furniture inside, as well as what looks like storage for some chairs, desks, and other office furniture. At least that's what I saw looking through the windows.
