This one had a special emotional attachment to me...

When I first heard about urbex me and my friends came up to do this. We chickened out and left.

We came back a few weeks later, and after a few fence hops we came to the water tower, but the cover was too difficult to get around and we left empty handed yet again.

This time we came back with climbing gear, and were able to get past the 30 feet of obstacles. After that, it was a long ladder climb. My arms were practically dead, but I clutched on.

My fear of heights got the best of me a few times, and I gripped the ladder so hard I still have bruises. We made it it in the end though.

I'm not sure why the pic came out so grainy...it was shot on ISO 100.

What kind of camera? I'd guess small sensor+low light.

Doesn't look that noisy to me though

Nice. Both shots are solid. I like the soft colors in the first one.

Way to be persistent!

Panasonic LX-2.

Natural 16:9 wide angle shots...I love it, but the lack of detail becomes apparent when you try to really blow the photos up. Still on par with most budget oriented DSLR photos I've seen.

It should be noted that the second photo went through some heavy noise reduction using NoiseWare...before I used it it was so grainy...just looked terrible.

Thanks for the compliments guys...I personally was pretty disappointed with the shots, but perhaps I'm my harshest critic

I took nearly 60 photos, but only 2 came out decent enough to post.

The pictures are nice. See that cable? Get a cable grab from somewhere and you'll have more fun on ladders.

ebay is where I got mine. DBI SALA LAD SAFE

Mindhacker purchased a different version, the Tuf-Tug Vertical Cable Grab, I believe. They can be had for less than 100 if you are patient enough.

also I think the first image may have benefited from a little cropping:

vs

now it appears to rising up out of the corners of the image, I think it makes for a stronger composition, but that's just me.

Yea if the original picture was noisy, that can be attributed to the smaller sensor in a point and shoot. That Lumix is a good camera though

That 2nd shot is nice! I don't do to well with heights either, so that would have made me a bit nervous as well.

Anyways, nice shots.
