idk if this have been covered but I have a few I think should be gospel.

1. When eating out as a group: SEPARATE CHECKS ALWAYS
2. Don't leave the building without telling someone in the fucking group!

feel free to add or flame ;)

If I was really created in God’s image then when God was a boy he wanted to grow up to be a man, a good man, and when God was a man, a good man, he started telling the truth in order to get honest responses.

Yeah, you can keep the change, but pay my bill.

Tourism, human circulation considered as consumption is fundamentally nothing more than the leisure of going to see what has become banal.

Deodorant, showers, watch out for dog shit.

Don't stop at a sketchy ass gas station if you have out of state plates and different skin color than everyone in your area.

Have the best climber go first and then go in order from weakest to strongest, to ensure everyone gets in/up as efficiently as possible and you have a few capable people in the correct places if shit (or an explorer) goes south.

Along w/VV's comments: if you can't physically do it, don't say you can; there is no shame in having someone else climb, squeeze through, lift, or whatever. There is shame in failing in all those, k?

You betcha

The Rules:
-Always split up as soon as possible once inside and make sure you have no way to contact anyone else.
-If the fuzz shows, don't be too proud to panic. Run, scream, whatever. And for the love of god, make /sure/ that everyone deals with the situation differently (run, hide, come out, etc).
-Ignore the group pace. If most people want to slow down for photos, leave'em in the dust. If most people want to keep moving, fuck'm, and take your sweet time!
-Make sure you bring as much incriminating stuff (bolt cutters, heroin, guns, prostitute body parts) as possible, and /don't/ tell the other explorers- no need to worry them.
-Carry detailed written accounts of who's with you, where your going, and where other groups are going. Better yet, print it on a custom t-shirt I mean, if you get caught, it's only fair everyone else does too.
-Everyone you know likes drains and rooftops. Further, they also have the exact same tolerance for legal risk, physical danger, and physical difficulty as you.

Be careful, not safe.

Make sure at least one person in the group has a warrant for their arrest too.

And at least one person in the group has some terrible blood-borne illness, so if they get cut everyone is in danger of contracting said illness. HIV is a good one.

Shit. I'd never knowingly explore someone with a blood borne illness like HIV.

But what are the odds of that, it's not like the same people who enjoy risk taking activities would be more likely to have or contract HIV, right?

Nah, that would be crazy. No one in the US has HIV anyway. That's just a 3rd World Country disease. Go have a giant orgy with about 50 life-long prostitutes in a used-needle-covered alley in the ghetto. I'm sure you'll be fine, as long as you have your flu shot. Seriously, some of those prostitutes could have the flu, and that shit makes you feel terrible!

i think probably the most important thing i've learned when in large groups is NOT to have a list of locations on you or in your car. while printing out a list with directions was super helpful for finding things... it was super awful when some people got arrested.

also, don't talk to police.

Aside from The HIV, it IS a good idea to know if your exploring partners have any illnesses that could be a problem should there be an injury. On a recent road trip, we started chatting and it turned out that one person was a hemophiliac, one person has a heart condition that can cause them to badly overheat even in winter, and one has some significant medication allergies. Good to know this information before there is a problem that can't be solved with a bandage. (of course, in a large group explore, this can be tougher to get out/remember)

remember, when exploring with a larger group, there are more people to use as human shields should the need arise. Always get behind the biggest person...

...and make sure their car is not a rolling bomb.
