I actually forgot to include this picture. This is one from Asylum #2.

I just laugh at this. Because the door you see at the bottom of the stairs is definitely not a blast door. I love the false sense of security. I remember my mom telling me when she was in school in the 60's the nuclear drills where to sit under their desks with their hands on their head. Yeah, that's really gonna help...

Yeah, i've got a copy of the original duck and cover video. laugh my ass off everytime i watch it.

...the wings on my shoes shrank now the moths won't eat my kidneys, when i shake my state capital it only yields 3 fairy napkins, but how do i know my banana slippers are like water boats because when the moon winks it burns my hamster punches, and that's how you get to llama school rowing your canoe backwards up main street when the front bumper falls off, do mermaids get to drink orange juice?

To be fair, a "fallout shelter" isn't the same thing as a "blast shelter". Those who don't get evaporated by the blast will need to get out of the way of the gently falling radioactive ashes.

Us children of the '80s didn't get the "duck and cover" videos, I mean filmstrips, but we did have a nagging fear that Reagan would miscalculate and the nukes would come down on the McDonald Douglass plant at the airport, and maybe one in the refinery just to be sure.

For a look at what we still thought we might face, I highly recommend you put "The Day After" on your Netflix queue. When it came out, parents were advised not to let their children watch -- it might be too intense. Watching it as an adult, I can see why -- especially without the benefit of seeing 20 years of history go past without WWIII starting.

J'ai toujours fait une prière à Dieu, qui est fort courte.
La voici: "Mon Dieu, rendez nos ennemis bien ridicules!"
Dieu m'a exaucé.
