|  | | | Went and explored some old greenhouses today. The odd thing about these greenhouses is that when I was young, they were quite active and to see them like this today is kind of a weird thing for me. It was such a gorgeous day out today I decided to shoot without aid of a tripod, which, is out of my comfort zone.
I REALLY like how these turned out. What do you think?

P.S.
Sorry about the large sizes, I was shooting with a camera that has 2 more mega pixels than I'm used to, so resizing them with the same %'s I used to didn't quite pan out.

part of what I love about the first one is the pattern and interchanging of the white of the framing, and the blue of the sky. The second has that really bright section on the right hand side, and it throws off the balance/composition IMO

Yeah, I tried to clean it up a bit without much success, I might try a little harder, if I had of been shooting on a tripod I would have bracket and blended it.

But that's just me. I know people who use them whenever they're shooting

So since I started to understand what noise is and how to reduce it, I've been shooting mainly with a tripod just to maintain the highest level of quality I can get out of my camera.
But since it was so sunny out yesterday, I was able to shoot entirely freehand. But since I haven't really done that since I switched out of Auto / Pre programmed modes I don't really have a lot of practice composing freehand.

| | | | You need to pay more attention to lighting and lines and frame them better. In the first one half of the ground is in shadows and it detracts from the photo as a whole. Maybe move 10 feet forward and aimed the camera up more? The composition would be more interesting if the wall of the greenhouse was aligned more towards the bottom so that the majority of the frame was taken up with lines leading into it. The lines are what make the picture here but they aren't prominent enough since the composition is really safe and boring.
For the second one it looks like the highlights are way blown out and the composition still feels a little weak. Pointing the camera up and to the right even 10 degrees would have made a huge difference, the lines are still not taking the spotlight like they should be.
