Granted, I do both of these -- but I try to critique with positive comments. Not that people haven't. So I don't want to seem to critical of the site, I like it.

| | | hmmmm that is a good question. having wanderd around for almost 20 years, i have seen: farm houses, water treatment plants, state parks(under construction) offices, warehouses, 2 airports(small) factories, industral sites, construction sites, a castle, caves, drains/tunnels, a deactivated ammo mfg site, schools, churches, summer camps, ghost towns, drive ins, big rig truck depos, houses, a 6-flags during winter, fair park (dallas), active and closed malls, motels, hotels, a 7-11 after it was looted, a grave yard from the early 1800's and many many other boring places. only untill recently (past 5 years or so) have i taken pics... and of the hundreds of pics only some have made it here.

| | | No. Not out of secrecy, I just think it would be boring to write about it and even more boring for others to read about, and my pictures aren't special. [last edit 6/19/2010 6:40 AM by keti - edited 1 times]

| | | Nope! I don't share my pictures even in local forums.I rarely post some pictures which aren't from top-secret objects on my flickr photostream. So all the awesome pics/video are hidden in my PC.

| | | Occasionally I post pictures to a regional forum, but generally don't interact with the DB anymore. Most of my stuff ends on my site, though... although there I can very easily control who can see what.

|
yep. also the same if the location has been visited many times. if its new, ill probably post a few shots in the local or private forums if im happy with the pics.
AJHalliwell wrote: Ya got people critiquing the artistic quality of things, people looking but not commenting. |
are you posting in the "photography" or "critiques" forum? if so, expect some (hopefully constructive) criticism. otherwise, location pics are location pics of variable quality for documentation purposes. people not commenting just means that they saw the thread, looked at it, and were informed. if you want comments on some item, ask for them!

| | | Posted by SirJinx Do you share everything? If not, what are your reasons?
|
Why? Ds said it right...not everything goes on the platter. The best stuff never gets dished out like that, except for friends you trust. If you have been here long enough you would know why. The one thing that never really changed is the expectation that you should give out directions, access points, etc, to complete strangers who aren't willing to go find information for themselves, never mind just to go out and look for new location themselves. Some call that being 'elitist' around here, but then again if you spent months watching something yourself and spent time going to that location, maybe even driving many hours to do so - then trying to find/make access, why do you 'own it' to every armchair explorer on flickr/uer/any forum to draw a map and provide directions? A good example is this post by someone new looking for help...he offered up links to his past posts and his website, he also is willing to share http://www.uer.ca/...urrpage=1&pp#post6 As the saying goes, "you scratch my back..I scratch yours" [last edit 6/22/2010 10:13 PM by Air - edited 2 times]

| | | Not all... not much really... I mainly post the "search" or stuff about locations that can't really be damaged. Also try not to show where it is. I put something in on the UER UE DB that I wish I hadn't. I'd love to get it removed What Dsankt says is true although he does post some pretty cool stuff around the place that I would never get to see so I am grateful that he chucks his bitches some scraps every so often Cheers, Doug

But unlike you, most of us just go from platter to platter, and there's nothing wrong with serving leftovers for the 30th time on the site last I knew.
