New evening of exploration, a working lighthouse and abandoned geological research building.

This is a lighthouse we discovered on a past trip, but didn't visit at that time. On the first floor we found some papers from the lighthouse department, the oldest dated back to 1962, the newest was in the 80's. We didn't think it was still in use, but on the panel on the second floor where the actual light is, the light was green. There was also a button to rotate between lightbulbs. As it wasn't turned on and did not seem to be in use, I pressed the button to see if it worked. (how could I resist?) It did. And then the light turned on, and we decided it would be a good time to leave.

wonderful location. Nothing like that around here. The light looks different from what I've seen locally. Here they used a "fresnel" (Sic) lens to concentrate the light, but the one in your pics looks diff. Nice set. Thanks for sharing.

Another place we discovered on a past trip, that time it was all boarded up. Easy enough to get in to with a screwdriver, the wooden plates are screwed on from the outside. However, someone has been nice enough to break one open for us, so we climbed right in. We found some papers, and it seems the place was first a geological research station in the 70's and since then been used by a shooter's club by the name of Feinwerkbau in the 80's.

Other noteworthy details are one, as you can see in the pictures, someone has had fun playing with red paint on the walls. I also found an unused hazmat suit in a sealed bag. Looks like it was one to be used once and thrown away. Unfortunately my memory card was full by then so I have no pics of that one.
We also found an old poster of Sean Connery on the phone with some woman behind him. Also no pic, for the same reason.

The building has two floors + an attic. We found no basement.

I don't know much about lighthouses or what a fresnel lens is, but this one seemed to just have a bent piece of glass in front of it for focusing the light.
