I went in to an old military dorm one time and on the second floor there was a bunch of police line tape blocking off a room. We looked in and found a old mattress soaked in blood. We left then.

I'm still waiting to see these pics, if you ask me the whole story sounds like BS.

If I was really created in God’s image then when God was a boy he wanted to grow up to be a man, a good man, and when God was a man, a good man, he started telling the truth in order to get honest responses.

Wow, you're a real charmer, huh? I'm working on it but jeez, you're kinda unnecessarily rude. As I said before, the pics were taken by people other than myself. Getting them to upload them online is proving rather difficult since it seems to go against their moral sensibilities, but I'm trying. You don't have to be rude about it.

This is the Motel.

I'll be sure to take some high def. video for you the next time I go, Injektilo. Which will probably be sometime this weekend just to see if the cops ever went. In the meantime, be nice? K thanx.

Ehn, he didn't say the story was bs, he said it sounds like it is and he is with holding judgment until photographs are provided.

the story does sound a little odd, not gunna lie.

So lets all just hang tight until those photos are posted, and not go calling people rude just because they were honest : (

One possibility is whoever was using that spot is still around, barricaded it to keep others out.

I'm sure if the cops did investigate you will know soon enough, unless of course you and your friends wore gloves.

And, a gun being present doesn't makes someone a criminal.

It does if you're in Canada. No 2nd amendment here.

I've come across a wide variety of illicit stuff while exploring. In Atlanta, there's an abandoned prison that's pretty popular. Over the last couple years I have found a lot of odd things there:

Stolen lottery ticket machine

Piles of hypodermics

Old city records and job applications, complete with names, addresses and SSNs. Perfect for identity theft.

Crashed cars

In my experience, the closer a location is to a gas station or liquor store, the more likely homeless addicts will hide out there. The farther it is from roads, houses, stores or anything in screaming distance, the more likely it is to have the really creepy psychos, or teens partying, or silly goth rituals.

This could (just?) be a child custody hideout with the "wrong" parent. (though it's still kidnapping.) Or an illegal immigrant-with-child who can't get public housing.

If you're down and out enough you can get a days' worth of free clothes from various charities. Imagine one could just let the old ones pile up instead of doing laundry. After all, there's no pride of ownership invested.

Just potty-trained kids don't like to poop in weird places. (or at all) Technology has a fix for that.

Since you *are* new to UER, there will be some obvious skepticism and maybe even some questioning as to why you contacted the police.

There was an incident in Detroit where a body frozen in ice went unreported, and the persons who stumbled upon it continued on playing their hockey game. Some of the reactions from explorers were that the body should have been left alone. Other reactions were that it should have been reported.

Since this could have been a possible crime against a child, you were in the right to contact the authorities rather than turn a blind eye. Where it comes to children, better to err on the side of caution.

The skepticism, take it with a grain of salt... once you've been around for a while you will find the reception generally becomes warmer.

LEAVE the body?? Why...?

I understand why people would be suspicious of a crime scene in general unless there was a dead body hanging from the ceiling or something. Pretty hard to ignore that. (Unless you're the folks in Detroit) but I agree with Intrinsic about taking it more seriously if a child is possibly involved. If I came across what Koyomi saw, I'd call the police immediately as well. Even if the kid isn't being abused, that's no place to keep a young child.

just a warning if someone offends you here just ignore it as retarded as it is many people here like to call anything a noob says as BS, and granted a lot of the time it is. I understand that isnt always the case .on top of that some just love to haze them...which even as a noob i participate and most of the time find fuckin hilarious but not in this case. as far as calling the cops if child abuse is evident to not just one person but to a group of people I dont care how cool the location is you fuckin do something about it so i agree with you there.(however if for some reason the story is BS well then i agree with my roomie this whole thread is retarded lol)

so keep you skin thick here and ignore the the people that wanna talk shit unless you give them reason to then expect it and take it..and learn from it lol

good luck

The building it the body was in has a lot of walk through traffic in it. So it was a lot more than just a few explorers who did not report the body. Everyone has their reasons I suppose. I would have done differently, but these were various Detroit residents. Detroit has different rules, and they do things differently there.

Those were my first thoughts, and if I'm sleeping in the abandonment with a young child, I'd blockade the door as well - both to give me warning if another hobo starts to enter, and to keep Little Bobby from wandering around a gorram ABANDONMENT where he'll kill himself falling down where they removed the stairs.

Most likely nothing (Real Life does not equal Criminal Minds/CSI episodes, if you haven't heard of a child kidnapped by a stranger (incredibly rare) in your neighbourhood, almost certainly not evidence of somebody raping some child victim. But still, never hurts to let police know...just don't give way to sensationalism.

that takes into assumption that their prints are already in the system from a previous arrest

the prison farm used to house a lot of drunks. The hypos were prob from the clinic for diabetics. The mug shots are cool. The lotto machine and a ton of other crap was stored here once it was 'disused' by the state. The was a ton of old IBM PC's piled up and rained on too. Over the years more crap has been picked through and now burned..
