The town was the first official seat of Callahan County, from 1877 until 1883, when the county seat was moved northwest to Baird. The ruins include a private home, a 3-story college building (too far from the road to be photographed well, and I didn't feel like getting arrested that day), and the ruins of some other building. The town was almost completely abandoned by the 1890s. I know this has at least briefly been mentioned before, but I didn't find much information in earlier posts. Here are a few photos.
