| | First urbex experience < on 3/14/2010 2:55 PM >
| | | So im new to Urban Exploration, the other day my friends and i were driving around and we saw a buildingwith a ladder,so instantly i knew we had to go up it, so we climb up this ladder and take a picture (its ona warehouse by the way, if you're near coppell, there are a shit cluster of them) so we're walking around on this roof taking pictures and we get a from my friend whos sitting on the ground. what did it say? the one word you never want to hear. "security." we hauled ass down the ladder and hop in the car, we turn around to find a security officer in his car on the phone. we try to dive past and he stops us. he getso ff the phone and yells "cant be up on my roof. its a crime!" /facepalm shit.... he wnt let us leave. he tels us the police are on the way. 20 mins later one cop car drives up goes over to jason's window leans in and says "hey, how you din' man, could you please step out here for a minute?" a nice officer. i wait and a second cop car,,, the man walks up to my window poins and yells "you. out of the car. now." i hop out and say yes sir. long story short, we got a warning and it turns out there have been A LOT of robberies of the warehouses where we were at and the place the normally get in through is the roof. how did he see us on the roof? he didn't. turns out we drove past the guard house on the way up. /facepalm. we got put in the system. was it worth it? yes. whats the funniest part? as we drove away, all i could think about was doing it again. they recently put some oil rigs up in our town and i can't wait to climb then -trip

I must admit that climbing a horizontal ladder is pretty hardcore.

| | | One thing to consider about drilling rigs is, they are manned 24/7 and roughnecks are probably more dangerous than security or the cops. If they have to stop drilling, it costs them $$$ and they get more than a bit POed when something costs money. I think I would rather go with the constable myself. And there is a ton of active machinery around the has the potential grabbing you, chewing you and spitting you out like last weeks hamburger. Just my $.02 worth. but if you do go, get some good pictures.
