I was told that this was not a real forum for urban explorers. I wonder what you all think about that. Tell me they're wrong...

ive been told the same thing, but this and one other place is the only forum in which i have been made to feel welcome and met friendly people. Best thing to do is to go off your own judgment and decide for yourself

If you want to protect the locations you love to explore, don't talk about them online in public!
If you want to make exploring friends, send people private messages! Meet up in real life! Get off the internet!
Don't try to have a UER e-penis! You won't impress anyone! This especially means you, Minneapolis MN newbies!

Well, it all depends on who you talk to. I don't know shit and don't do shit. So my opinion doesn't count. But if it did it would be that I'm not a real explorer and ^ what he said. Just ask anyone here.

LOL

While this is indeed a real forum and there are indeed real explorers who congregate here, there are plenty of legitimate reasons for people to talk smack about UER. Spend ten minutes in the chat room at any time of day and you'll see what I mean. There are a lot of people here who do more socializing and posting on this website than actual exploring.

For some people, I suppose, it's because they don't have more proper places to explore in their neighborhood. Others, I believe, are just looking for a social outlet more than a place to discuss exploration. A lot of "serious" explorers (if you can even say such a thing with a straight face) have dedicated private local forums they frequent for their "productive" exploration discussions and use UER as a tool for networking and communicating with a wider audience of explorers worldwide.

There are problems on UER that are common and standard to pretty much all web forums everywhere online. Stupid memes getting spread, pedobear jokes, and other idiotic stuff. It's the same idiocy that you'll see everywhere on other forums though.

UER is a valuable tool for connecting with other explorers worldwide and often for finding new explorers in your local area.

Don't get too comfortable with a feeling of secrecy and privacy though. Cops, vandals, thieves, scrappers, and other folks you wouldn't want to tip off read UER. For that simple reason, it is always best to keep quiet about sensitive location information.

Basically, use UER for connecting with other people. Don't use it to brag about one's exploration exploits. You'll be fine!
