No offense by any means, but, this picture is just kind of boring. The door is cropped off on the top and the angle is focused downwards to much. There isn't really anything outside to focus on.

If your focus was the danger sign, maybe try to get down level with it and do a macro shot out of the door, or just try the angle from a much lower point of view.

Okay, I realize this definitely isn't my strongest shot from the trip. Thanks for the feedback!

Obviously the intent of the photo is to contrast the danger sign with the obvious lethal drop waiting on the other side of the chains. If you were going for that, it might help to get a shot looking down so you can get a better sense of the drop. Then again, that probably wouldn't really satisfy the art critics either.

Try a wider angle lens if you have one, get closer and see if you can get the drop and the sign in. It'll be okay even if the sign is of to the side and has significant perspective distortion because of the strong red color which tends to draw the eye. Move the camera up higher.

edit: this still ought to work to some degree even if you keep the same focal length.

considering theres a beautifully frightening drop just outside that door, I too think you should've used a higher, more agressive angle to capture the shot. Looking down into the courtyard would have been nice.
I mean know whats out that door because Ive been to the plant, but if I hadnt it could just as well be a normal doorway.

I get what you guys are sayiNg for sure.
And the way I have it composed in my mind it would be a great shot,
however in this framing it leaves that drop to your imagination.
Either way, we'd all hate to fall over lol

It's a boring shot... maybe it would be better in HDR...
