Question for the Austin crowd

Does anyone know anything recent about Tips Iron and steel?

My little group has wanted to check it out, but we're pretty new to this and we want to be sure that we're not walking into some active industrial storage lot on our second explore together. I've made one reconnaissance around it recently, but it was really hard to make any conclusions. I'm going to be dropping by it again this weekend, a week before our expedition is planned to see if anything is different. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if it's being used, and if yes what it's being used for.

I believe they are using at least one of the buildings within the fenced in area towards the front of the complex (facing the new condos). When I was last there it appeared that some homeless person had set up a home in the very front tiny building that is next to the main gates.

Last time I headed over there a guy was sitting in the parking lot in a truck glowering at us walking across the train tracks. We wandered around the entire perimeter and when we came back around he was parked inside the gates. We tried to get him to come out to see if we could get permission to go inside, but had no luck. Not sure if he's actually a guard, or just happened to be there that day. I keep meaning to head back down there to check it out again, but haven't made it yet. If you do end up heading down there, let me know what you find!

The comrade and I might be heading that way on Monday. In Google Streetview, it looks like there may be an access point, so I'll be able to report back on whether or not we were able to get in.

There wasn't a guard or anything of that sort when we went by a few months ago. Just construction workers across the street at the repulsive condo sites watching us.

Stopped by earlier today, walked the perimeter.
They took down the old sign that was at the gates, and there were plenty of shiny pickups parked both outside and inside the gates. I researched on the web a bit and it looks like Austin Crane and Rigging or something to that effect is now located at that address, with the same phone number as Tips iron and steel.

Pretty disappointing, gonna have to let my friends down again. >.<
Thanks for the help though.

Yeah nights or Sunday would probably work. As I mentioned, it looks like the very front building is being used (to the right of the gates as you're looking at them) but I don't believe anything else was, which leaves quite a bit of unused area within the complex.

Yeah, we walked by earlier. The main gate onto Baylor is open, but there are all sorts of trucks parked right around it.

The area adjacent to the Corazon parking lot is fenced off, and topped with barbed wire.
