Abandoned Home (La)

This is my first exploration into a structure. I pass this house every time I go from school to work. I stopped once and parked in the driveway and just took a look in the windows and around. That's when I decided I wanted in. Finally got some time yesterday.

I drove around for about thirty minutes to find a descent parking area, which there wasn't, but I finally settled for a safe non descent spot right next to the train tracks that would take me to the backyard of the house.

I need to get a shot of the front, excitement made me forgetful.

Mmm, wine.

The inside of the house was pretty big. Huge kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (both actually pretty small), a den, and several other "areas." Weird part was the 4 sinks and bar/counter areas other than the bathrooms and kitchen. And a Furnace?

Was fun going in and looking around. When I left, I went to work a different way than my norm, and found another house. Got to get to that one before it's torn down.

Wow.. I like the brick work on the inside. Looks like it was a pretty nice house back in the day.

Looks like a pretty cool house that needs a little TLC, I hope someone gives it a chance. I hate to see decent houses like this go to waste. Fortunately, the damn kids with the Krylon cans haven't been inside yet.

That place looks awesome! I love the stairs going up to the bathtub. It makes me want stairs on my bathtub. Somehow it just seems fancier.

Dude that house gives me the CREEPS.

The multiple sinks, big brick work that looks like a furnace and that pond! >_<

I think something seriously weird was going on there.

Nice. You did a good job putting the story together with the pictures. I'm amazed that the house is that clean and undamaged.

That house looks familiar. Is it outside of Baton Rouge?

Correct. Walker.

So many friends of mine give me this, "there could of been meth cookers there and you could of been killed" speech when I show them the pictures. It's creepy, but not that creepy.

Looked familiar. Yep, Livingston is meth-haven but downtown BR has become a nightmare to explore. I have my eye on a certain little closed school off Southdowns but it is on the east side of the interstate and really not motivated to go without an armed guard.

Well...judging by the bottles lying around, I'm gonna have to go with the typical "whino". What area of BR is this in? I've never noticed this place.

There is one for sale sign in the yard and one leaning against the house. 2 different companies if I can remember correctly.

Cool 1st explore... I also like how you added a little story with the pics. The place looks pretty neat. The garage doors (and openers) are still in really good shape (can you tell what I do for a living) Lol.
