House in woods

Victorian style house actually, i took these there a couple years ago. Forgot to lower the ISO on my new camera, and then i adjusted them on my old monitor (new one is much brighter). So i don't know what to think of them. I'm picky about my photos but can't say these are a complete fail.

Cool find... I still like the pics, especially the 1st one, that peeling wallpaper and stairs makes for the perfect "creepy haunted house shot"

Damn. That is some exquisite, yummy detail. It looks rather expansive, too?

The only reason i haven't gone back yet is that it's not fully abandoned. Some drunk lady was living there with her kids, she just wasn't home at the time 'cause she was in jail for a 3rd DUI. When i went back the second time all the doors and windows were screwed shut, so i assumed someone knew people were going in.

Heard from a friend earlier this year that one of the windows on that door were broken out. People just suck.

It was a decent sized house, little larger than 'average' but not like a mansion. Had some nice woodworking details all over it.

The true measure of the success of a photo (as the younger kids say, 'win' or 'fail') is if you are pleased with the results. Praise from others is nice, but it comes down to what pleases you.

They look great; it's hard to picture someone actually raising children there though.

I think they're alright, just can't help noticing that i forgot to lower the ISO for the first one. I know how much of a difference it would have made.

Neither of these photos are "Fail" in any way.

Softly creeping through
Empty hallways decades old,
glimpsing history.

Well thanks, both you. I drove past this place a couple times today, it's easier to see it while no leaves are on the trees. Both of those windows on the door were smashed out and boarded up. Plus most of the other windows on the building. And i haven't been seeing any lights on at night.
So i assume no one is living there now, means it might be safe to return. Without meeting the homeowner.

were the trees on the doors in the second photo painted on, or is that textured glass with trees outside?

Textured, with trees reflecting from behind.

The first shot would be my favourite of the two. The crooked lines of the ceiling and banister really make the place look like an ancient falling down house. Great work! I also really like the reflection of the old trees in the second photo.

These are both awesome, but especially #1. The colors are awesome. Are those colors natural?
