| | | Wow! I stopped by here on my way back from Kansas a few months ago, was met at the front gate by a guard. I wasn't planning on going in, just wanted to see what you could see from the gate...which of course is nothing! He told me part of the place is in use by OK State University, so I guess you have to be at least semi-careful about poking around there. Anyway, I gotta get here to shoot at night sometime! Thanks for the excellent images and background.

The place is beyond awesome, but its on government land, so you can only guess as to what might happen to you if your caught. Its basically a late 1800's ghost town covering several hundred acres, with maybe 3 active buildings out of like 30. They have 24/7 security that constantly monitors the property (this includes 3 guard dogs!). Many of the buildings have water damage, with rotting floors (of which I almost fell through). Very risky place to explore. I would say ask permission to get a tour of the place, but if you do, they wont let you in any of the buildings... Here are some of my pics of the place. PM me if you want POE details on the place.

| | | oh man....you REALLY have to be careful in that place! the sloping of that cave-in is spectacular, but really frightening.
We're all just trapped between the stippled earth and the stubbled sky. |
