I really love this pic, turned out much better than I could have ever hoped. Please note this picture is completely raw. One day, maybe, I'll go through my whole portfolio and touch up all my pics. Just seeing what others think.

Rust is pretty. BUT! There's more to photography. Use offset lighting to get the rust texture. Watch what's in/out of frame (The random concrete smear, the cord, at least make it more interesting than a vertical thing in the way). If you are shooting in complete dark without a tripod, shine a light on the subject - this picture's out of focus. If you can manage it, always manually focus in all photography but bright daylight at a dead run.

Highlighting a subject of a photo involves looking at the lines in a shot - the brick/concrete transition immediately draws the eyes away from the lightswitch, and leaves you on the wrong side of the picture. You did a Rule of Thirds on the rusty metal, but it's such a large area that you might do better framing thirds and focus on the switch itself.
Here's my shot on just the crop, although it's better to compose 'em right. Here the out-of-focus sticks out more. Look around at some pictures you like, and notice how your eyes follow lines in the picture, and go towards high-contrast areas. Find out why they took the picture as they did, and you'll be on the way to showing the scene as a person would see it, not just the way it is.

If this is not a joke, two things:

1) A genuine question: Why do you love this pic?

2) A suggestion, search 'photography tips' in google. You will learn a lot.

I'm not here to break it, just to see how far it bends.

sorry,
its out of focus and kinda boring.
try experimenting with different angles.

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!
