|  | | | For my first outing I went to what I would say to be an extremely easy to do UE. It was the old abandoned steel wharf in Baton Rouge. As we were walking to it, there was a vehicle parked right in front of the gate with some stuff that seemed out of place behind it, and a tent. No one was around so we continued to find the gate wide open with wires running along a wooden walkway layed down. Huge lighting, backdrops, freshly spray painted ramps, and plenty of wires were on the wharf. Still no one around, we went on.
I learned recently that Michelle Rodriguez is in town shooting some action film. Didn't get to meet her, darn.
Anyone else ever gone out to explore to find Hollywood take over? Meet a star? Score a part in the movie?

| | | | I was at Pennhurst once with Paisley, Lord Awesome and InfiniteEntropy and Paisley randomly picked up what appeared to be an abandoned backpack in amongst a bunch of other abandoned junk. She started going through its contents and found a bunch of video camera equipment. Then she pulled out an iPhone that was turned on and fully charged. At that point I was like "Dude, Paisley, whoever this belongs to is here right now, we should probably put it all back how it was"...and right as I was saying that this guy walks into the room. We all apologized for going through his stuff and he wasn't upset and started talking to us. He was a videographer from Hollywood filming a small amount of footage for a music video; he couldn't tell us what video.
Also, I have a local friend in Johnson City who used to do set design for Universal Studios and has done a lot of work in abandoned hospitals, asylums, and a few industrial places. He is young but retired now. He had never heard of UE, but when I told him about it he was very fascinated and wants to join me. He is currently sick and in hospital just for a few days (I met him through my dad who is a doctor at that hospital) but as soon as he has said he wants to go exploring with me in Johnson City as soon as he recovers.
And then of course there is City Methodist Church in Gary, IN where one of the newer Nightmare on Elm Streets was filmed. If you go there now you can see a lot of evidence of the film crews having been there.

| | | | This location was used in the filming of the movie "The Road." Starring Viggo Mortenson. Been there a couple of times. The last time we were there was a few months after filming wrapped up, and the only sign of them being there was some fresh paint on one of the portals.

And then of course everyone has heard about the group that got arrested at the mansion party a few years ago because a queefing porn video that was being filmed illegally in some abandonment in Boston...
