Pretty straightforward:
a) use it (consider attire, timing)
b) find another
c) give up

My very first explore was an old school, up on a hill, on a VERY busy street in a
neighborhood-watch community, and the place had large, oversized windows everywhere. Like stupid, idiot kids, we went in anyway, not paying attention to whether or not said street could see us through the windows.

We got busted.

My suggestion, though, is to just do it, but be smart about it. Use your brains; if you think it's too risky, it probably is. Go when there will be less traffic and get in quickly. When you're inside, stay away from large windows and don't draw attention to yourselves.

Well there are 2 or 3 ways to get into a building on a busy street. Just walk by it like youre not doing anything. When nobody is around, duck in real quick. Thats what i did when i went into an abandoned building in Winslow on a main street by houses and stores.

Or go in right before the sun comes up. Youll be inside when its dark so youll have cover getting in and then spend the morning there in the light. Then just walk out like nothing happened and get out of there. I actually have to do this for a place in newark im planning on checking out.

These definitely are the best methods. The first method is good I the street is busy but there are small breaks in traffic. The second method is the best if there's a very large volume of traffic and there is hardly a break ever

It was a long weekend (steady traffic), along a major artery between Toronto and Sudbury, and 200 metres from an OPP station. The car was too small to block the view of me in front of the place., facing the highway.

Basically I made it look like I was cleaning up the window (busted) and brushed aside the glass both at the bottom of the sill and the floor within the building.

Then I decided that I wanted in this place bad enough, and if I got a trespass ticket, it would be worth it. I went in head first, legs dangling out the window which must have been something to see from the highway.

I spent about 30 minutes inside and came out the same way I'd entered. Never got caught even though I could be seen from the OPP station.

Boy do I wish that it were only a ticket here for trespassing.

Yah, ditto. Here, even a violation can carry jail time. (Usually doesn't, but can.)

this place i really want to get into is right off a busy on ramp. Then the back is right behind an apartment complex where i have to climb a tree to get on the roof. Got questioned by an old woman that came back. Told her i was bored waiting for a friend so I was climbing trees. It actually worked too... though she stuck around fiddling with her garbage cans in plain view of me.

But yeah, I have been to that location 4 times already studying different options for a PoE. Just take your time if you want it bad enough. Time of day is your major factor here.

The caged being inside of you must break free from his shackles, for our partial sanity or pseudo-sanity, if so applies, cannot contain it forever without repercussion of mental breakdown.

Dress up like a construction worker and act like you're supposed to be there.

And at last I resolved to scale that tower, fall though I might;
Since it was better to glimpse the sky and perish,
Than to live without ever beholding the day.

I was thinking the same thing. I once told someone I worked for the US Geologic Survey and was field-verifying topographic map info.

Yep, a safety vest and hardhat can be the keys to the castle!

as can be a security uniform (even if it has security, just tell him you must of gotten the address wrong from dispatch)

and for active buildings, a picture of you on a piece of paper with "joes courier co." or something works well. esp for office towers.

Apprentice/Trainee/Teaboy.

If you do take this route, make sure you are suitably shit up because you will simply look out of place if you have a nice clean hi-vis vest and helmet. Only managers have clean safety kit (combined with a suit usually) and a 14 year old ain't gonna be a manager.
