| | | You could always try bring it into the location, there might be a place there to hide it. Its safer then leaving it outside the area.

| | | Sweet ride dude. Now i've only ever rode a bike to a location a few times and in my honest opinion don't even try to hide the bike on a property your exploring. If you can, try and hide it somewhere nearby and hopefully easily accessible to you afterwards. If left laying around, and if for whatever reason you need bail out of a place the last thing you wanna worry about is going back for the bike. If it's off property you can just grab it after your done your exploration and head home.

Sorry bout that, i guess you dont bring it in. My only experience with a bike exploring is riding one through drains, untill the drain got smaller, then i locked it up to grab on the way back. Hide the bike in the big bush that is in an open space, best spot imo
(There is a bike behind there you know) [last edit 10/18/2009 12:12 PM by ErkzO - edited 1 times]

| | | Yea i wouldnt ride it in. Thats pretty much like driving your car in also. If youre caught and want to bail out quick then you dont have to worry about getting it. Thats why whenever i drive i dont part on the property. Same thing goes with riding a bike i guess. Ditch it somewhere safe and if you need to get out quick you can, then just go and pick up the bike and ride it like nothing happened ya know.

| | | I lock mine up around the corner usually. If you get busted or have to run just leave it and come back later when things cool down.

| | | True story, I was fixing a friend's car in the bad part of town and a black crown vic rolled up, they had a mug shot and described a guy they were looking for as being "on a white bike". A pedal bike would stick out b/c of going a different speed compared to traffic. However you could get a $5 yard sale bike and if necessary abandon it and there's no plate to trace back to you. If you're looking for urban camo, a few used shopping bags with cans tied off, and black electrical tape on the chrome will make it look more downmarket. Still, if it has air in the tires someone will want to steal it b/c everyone knows the cops are useless for stolen bikes. If you lay it down in the right spot (even if subtly chained) most would assume it was hobo trash and look the other way.

| | | First of all, don't ride a classic bike like that around. Get an old beater for explores, Your local college probably has lots of excess bikes for sale. People will buy them, ride 'em 4 years, and then leave them. You can pick them up for $20.00 bucks or so. Paint it flat black, everything, rims, tires, handlebars, even reflectors if there is not a lot of traffic in your area. Take it in with you, or stash it nearby, just dont put any money into it, or get to attached to it, you've got to be able to leave it if need be.

| | | Ack. Don't ride that to a site unless you're planning on locking it up/hiding it a block or two away. I'd get a beat up garage sale one and just toss it half-under a bush. Would look abandoned/like trash. And the painting it entirely black suggestion isn't a bad one. If I bought a cheapo yard sale one for exploring purposes I'd definitely consider that.

Why would you bring it in with you? So if the cops come and you have to run, you have no bike for the ride home? Now youre stuck walking. Dump it off near by and hide it. Then walk onto the property. Cause if you go in with the bike you have to worry about getting yourself and a bike inside. Esp if its on a busy street. Not very sneaky.

| | | I just laughed so hard! I leave mine on the incline of a nearby ditch or under a bush, or chain it up a block away. If you're walking away from a scene calmly you don't really look suspicious anyways.

| | | There always seems to be a convenient bush or ditch located a little ways off property. Bringing a bike in with you always seems to make the exit harder than it needs to be. If you don't plan on getting a "fixer-upper", then try to find somewhere close by to hide it, or chain it to a nearby bike rack.

And security has called the cops on people just locking their bike to that fence. They are that paranoid.
