|  | | | Thought i would make my first contribution to the forums. My group the Illinois Urban Explorers went out for some fun tonight. This was the second time we have been out to this location, the pics aren't the greatest so bear with them please. There is a large building we explored before but we decided to explore the rest of the property that it sat on. We found alot of rubble from old buildings that used to be on the site and a nice tunnel with a conveyor belt running through it. The floor was covered in sand and the belt had tons of sand on it. even found some animal skulls. We also found a cover over a hole with a ladder but there was nothing but a control for a steam pipe in there. Then we went further and found an old silo, a couple of the guys went to the top but we didn't get pics from the top cause the guy with the camera didn't want to go up. Neither did i it did not look safe up there. Then we went to the building so the two guys with us that have never been there could see it. There are a few pics in there too. But the best part was one of our members' brother who rents the property it was on showed up ninja style and was running through the upper levels making noise and throwing shit around. We thought we were gonna have to do battle with some homeless crack heads. it was a fun night. here are some of the pics. ps i have more from the first trip but they were taken on a dslr so i need to resize them before i post em. warning i'm the one with the headlamp and ZOMG ORBZZ LMAO!!! enjoy

Thanks, yeah it is fun! It's part of a massive old industrial site. Still some active parts of it but where we go is far enough away to not get caught. I will post it in the regional forum sometime later. I would post a link to a government pdf on the site but I don't want too much heat about it, plus I don't want anyone wrecking the site more than it already is because this place is sentimental to us.

Good idea O5iri5, It's not fun seeing a place you discovered get trashed. I have experience with it....not fun at all.

| | | | good post and welcome you've got some pretty good shots there and as you said about not wanting to have the area trashed smart thinking a good UE general rule is DO NOT POST specific location's on the general public forum and your site should stay just how it is (hopefully!!) now a recommendation from me if your poking around industrial site's sites(like you said your far enuf away not to get caught)but pictures with your face shown not generally the smartest idea i would blur em out before posting to the general public, who know's what gov't people aer watching and reading this site
anyway looks like a great location, thank's for sharing and good luck to many more explorations you should do.

| | | | thanks for the welcome guys! as for our faces in the pics: not a big deal we "Technically" had permission to be there but just not in some of the places that were on site, (i didn't post the pics that show the exact place) so we're not too worried about these pics getting us into trouble. i had everyone's permission to post there faces, plus i have seen worse on here that i am surprised certain people haven't been visited by black-hawk helicopters and black party-vans lmao. i have more pics of other places we have gone in the past, and as soon as i can edit some of them for content i will post them, also we have a lot of outings planned for the future and i will share them all with you guys. and@don_corleyone yes my friend and his pipe are awesome and sorry about the dark pic of the silo. wasn't paying attention when i uploaded that one lol
