| | | | slipped and fell just before turning around in a boring RCP....broke the leg clamp on my brand new manfrotto tripod and shattered the lens shroud on my new 10-20 sigma....thank fuck the shroud took the brunt of the impact tho, as the lens was just fine 
Henry's, in an uncharacteristically honest and generous move, replaced my tripod free of charge, without the original receipt. Better believe I paid an extra $40 for the 2yr replacement plan on the new one

I don't know about flip flops, but I prefer going in strap-on sandals. Of course, most of the drains around here don't have a lot of metal/glass debris or chem/bio waste, so that's not saying much.
My stupidest thing was climbing a ~8 foot high, ~25 degree-off-vertical slide using only a 1/8 inch nylon cord that Applesnail and Shutter where holding at the top. It actually worked, but if I had lost footing, that line probably would have taken my fingers right off. Right before I took a bite of concrete.
(same slide Aurelie mentioned, I'd bet my bottom dollar)

Pfft, it had a loop to hold so you wouldn't have the line wrapped around your fingers. In future I'm gonna bring a spike and hammer for a step, or bring a real rope. Let me add that running up said slant barefoot (I was wearing flippyflops that trip) was a pretty convincing failure.

hahaha well i haven't done B. but i do have one better for you...after an afternoon of drinking me and a storm coming on the horizon, me and my buddy decided to go whitewater draining on inner tubes. after the 10 blocks in to the main dropshaft we waited and cracked open a couple beers and started a long (and at that) time slow ride. soon it got much quicker with the water rising and we were having a blast as it rained outside. at almost the end we realized that we forgot about the slide and we panicked and bailed. luckly we both were able to catch the wall before the major slide at the end where it goes into a hole before flowing to the river.
after this episode i dont drink and drain

We once went to go draining, but several drains that had 0 or less than 5 cm water in it last time, now had up to 70 cm of fast-flowing water. That day is now known as the Aachen (d)Rain expo.
And close to where I lived was a nice 1.50m round RCP. I went into it for 20 m, decided it was too dark, then went out. The stupidity was never coming back with a flashlight...

I was still hungry and just ate it anyway. That trip didnt end well. 2 days later I was hospitalized and 3 weeks later I was released... Juuuust kidding ;)
