Well I'm not from the DFW area, but I would imagine you're going to have a hard time finding abandoned places in Plano and Allen due to the cities growth being relatively new. Most of the people who post here are from the metroplex and can help you more, but you might try Ft. Worth. They have the Swift Meat Packing Ruins, and a nifty incenerator out by Echo Lake for starters. Both have a pretty low risk of getting caught by Johnny Law.

If you're in Plano, go to Collin Creek Mall. The things you'll see there will scare the hell outta ya!

Okay, so to correct myself, the above mentioned mall isn't in fact locked up, from the looks of it (i just went and checked it out) someone had driven a car through one of the fence entrances and the main door to the mall isn't fenced in at all, its completely open. though me and my friend didn't go inside it looked pretty messed up inside (walls and columns had holes etc.)

I think what we're trying to say is... treat uer.ca as if it were an abandoned building. Spend some time looking around, see where the gun turrets are placed, find out when you need to keep your head low. And also, learn to detect the booby traps, and the soft spots in the floor where you really don't want to step.

Lurk a while, read some old threads, and *then* come back and ask about some a'splorin suggestions. You might get a better response.

do you guys really think cops have nothing better to do than lurk on UER???? Any cybercrime units cops have are tasked with either tracking local hackers, prostitutes advertising on craigslist, or pedophiles cruising for victims. If camera toting criminal trespassers were a worry of theirs then this is prolly where they would go...sorry, but even a newb like me knows better. Institutionalized paranoia in this site is almost a given, but, damn, dude posted for the first time and got accused of being the five oh.....

I don't think there *are* any "cybercrime unit cops", to tell you the truth. I can't think of any major US city that is so awash in money that it can afford to keep a well-trained police officer sitting at a desk. Not to mention the fact that your average cop isn't a computer-savvy geek -- he's a macho guy who wants to be out on the street knockin' heads.

(Well, the FBI would certainly have cyber cops, but they're going to be looking for the aforementioned bad guys. Remember, anyone online who claims to be female is a 40-something male pervert or an FBI agent.)

I figure the greater "threat", as it were, would be from the "suits". Like, maybe an insurance company would have some guys/gals who troll the forums looking for info. But they'd do a better job than this guy -- no offense, but I think he's too n00bish to be 5-0. That's not a bad thing; We Were All n00bs Once.
