It got me to thinking. See my dad's in law enforcement, so sometimes he's kind of an ass. But BEFORE he was doing that, he graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography, in Santa Barbara. (major brownie points for him).
I selected a slew of photos from the forum here, and I've been going over them with him. He actually got really excited about them which led to an entire technical photography discussion I was having trouble keeping up with.
Then we went over some of your light painting photos and he got REALLY excited.
To demonstrate, he went and got a tripod outta the garage, and set up my dumb digital camera to take timed exposures, then we pulled out a slew of different flashlights and glowsticks and shut off the room lights last night and he was teaching me about "light painting" basics, albeit on a small scale.
He was explaining how the inverse square law pertains to lighting in photography and all kinds of stuff.
Anyhow, he really liked the photos you guys post on here, and had lots of great compliments for them.
So thank you, cuz it was cool actually "hanging out" with my dad and seeing him get excited about something.
He realized that some of the shots from other photos in the forum are "in places of dubious legality", but he was more interested in what was IN the photos, and how they were shot, and all that, cuz when it all comes down to it he's pretty cool like that.

The first one is stunning (rectangle drain*), well they all are really. The ladder is a wonderful idea, and it makes it even better that it is lit up too. Um, are you selling prints by chance?
