Many years ago, I was in downtown Seattle, a bit east of town on a hillside near Harborview Hospital. Two of my children were with me taking a walk and I spotted an abandoned house site which still had the concrete stairs and walkways leading up to the lot which was overgrown with weeds. With myself in the lead, we ascended the stairs and started walking through some weeds along a path when I almost stepped on an amorous couple getting it on under open skies. I quickly did an about face, and told my children, "There's nothing more to see along this path."

One of the paths through the woods to my favorite spot is inhabited by coyotes. You can hear them follow you throughout the path, but I've only seen them on two occasions. One time a particularly ballsy coyote stood on a hill looking down and making eye contact with me shortly before disappearing back into the woods. A couple minutes later he popped out onto the trail about 20 yards in front of me and we had a bit of a standoff for a few minutes before he left. And on a night trip, I heard one rather close behind me so i turned around just in time to see his hind legs disappearing into a thick bush. Kind of like that scene in "Signs" when Mel Gibson is in the cornfield and sees the foot....

I've stumbled across some crazy stuff. Lot's of dead animals - skin, bones, weird bionicly mutilated looking stuff. Ran into some ladies taking a walk through an abandoned building on their brake. A huge bag of gay porn in a WWII bunker. Couple of bums. Some of the oldest looking food I have ever seen, including an open jar of mayo that looked horrible. A half dying deer. A horrible rotting deer that had been chopped in half in a train tunnel. A wandering rabid raccoon in the woods one time, I almost shit a brick with that one. A weird ceremonious decapitated pigeon on the side walk that some creepy guy warned us about. Tons of other random weird stuff. It makes things exciting. I'm waiting for the day I find a body!

You can always find me chilling on a rooftop.. Ironically, I'm not a fan of heights. Just views...

The remains of a meth lab. That got me running pretty fast. I actually ran past my car!
I was exploring a huge multi-level factory in NH, when I opened the door to go up the stairs to the next level. A dozen or so mannequins rolled through the door, dismembered. Some joker thought it be funny for the next guy to go up those stairs to get a fright.

Behind every mistake, there is a lesson.

I'm just not that great at learning them!
