That's my old friend razor wire, and he doesn't much like you, or anyone else for that matter.

How is razor wire; concertina style or otherwise, installed? That may give some hints as to how to handle it.

http://www.nononse...rglarbusiness.html

Reason: Unlike barbwire -- that can be easily climbed over or foiled by someone wearing a heavy jacket -- razor wire is not something you can get through in one piece. The way it is installed makes it flexible and unstable to crawl over or through. Cutting it is equally useless. A bladed sheath encases hardened steel wire that nothing shy of bolt cutters will work on. And that maneuver is not too likely when someone is trying to hang onto the top of the fence. When installed correctly, it is not tension that holds it in place, but anchors at the bottom of each loop. Unlike barbwire, the wire doesn't spring away when cut. Cutting correctly installed razor wire is a waste of time because the wire stays in place.

I was at an abandoned jail about a month ago and i hopped a fence and didnt see the razor wire hanging on the other side and caught my hand on it. Boy did that hurt when i pulled my hand off of it and saw my tendon on my pointer finger. Its all healed up now but still hurts if i hit my hand on something.

Na lol. I just let it heal on its own. Kept soaking it in peroxide and always had medicine and a bandaid on it. The cut healed in like a week. I usually heal pretty quick with cuts.

The n00b wanted advice. I gave advice.

I could also recommend bending/twisting/propping it up/shoving your friend thru first, but that just seems, y'know. Wrong.

I've had good luck grasping the wire with thick pieces of leather in order to pull it aside, but you better make sure you're not using any old pair of leather gloves, or you're in for a world of hurt. Obviously this won't work for all configurations of wire, but it gets through, for example, loose concertina in a snap.

I love going under things. While a good fence will be on a level, flat pad, with tie-downs and a base wire, we usually find bad fences. Good fences are hard to get around, that's why they're expensive.

Good fences become bad fences when some little prick goes and snips a few of the wires holding the bottom tight.

ive come across razor wire a few times i think the best meathod is cut it all you need is wire cutters usually one thing me and my friends used to do was blanket it and the first person over usually ends up flattening the wire to make it easier to get over if you blanket it make sure its not an actual blanket some sort of plastic with some form of a cloth/blanket something to go over the plastic but ive had a few nifty designs like the liners in suitcases work well if done properly

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained we must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be by the better angels of our nature.

Oh that's just malicious of them. Sick fucks. It is supposed to prevent people from bothering going in, it is not supposed to be used to lay traps to maim human beings. The things our race does to itself!

and if placed properly, you can send a small electrical current down one wire and use the other as a contact point too. thus allowing if the two touched it would short an alarm contact, or if you cut one of them, it would break the circuit too. either or would allow most cheap alarm panels to send a signal.

since i install alarms, i'll let you in a lil secret !
i don't need electric in a building to install cameras and / or an alarm! just a lil sunlight to power some recharging stations for the 12 batteries that power the systems.

i'd suggest using a good angled cutter or the fence plier. and harbor freight is the way to go ... cheap!!

cheers !

Whatever. I had to climb 12 FT high, quadruple stacked, underground (and I forgot my 47 flashlights) with sharks.
