| | shreveport. The Icehouse < on 6/7/2009 6:12 PM >
| | | these are my amature pics from the a partialy owned ice house. this place was used to make ice blocks before refridgerators were popular ice chute/coveryer belt. crappy pic from the bottom of the chute, im the one with the repserator on. concrete dust everywhere. we all had them the other two just werent wearing them. just a little row of boxs that must have held some sort of liquid entering a doorway. it was very dark without the flash. we had glowsticks to throw ahead to check for holes or falls. some strange system coverd in unsulation. is that blast cord? 0_0
over all condition of the ceiling.
ye olde coke. the one that looks plastic is actualy glass as well. what year did they stop makeing them like this?
ignore the morons hand that got in the way. but that is one of the huge freezer doors. it was only 5 inchs cracked open and SUPER heavy. so we could only stick the camera in and snap a pick. are any urbexers willing to help me heave this thing open? this is from inside the door. it looks so cool! and it looks like it leads to the rest of the building that we couldnt find a way into.
I saw a breathing lump under a blanket, what could it be? - 1 hobo - 2 dwarf hobos - 8 racoons - 443 rats - 896 mice or 11 rat kings? |

"You young whippersnappers today, got it so DANG easy with yer newfangled "glowsticks" and all...hell, back in my day, we explored entire industrial complexes with nothing more than a book of matches....AND WE LIKED IT!!!" Seriously though, how the hell did you guys actually explore this place with nothing more than glowsticks, and more importantly...why? [last edit 6/8/2009 4:12 AM by Imbroglio - edited 2 times]

| | | no no no we all had head lamps. and a crank light just incase. i made them turn them off becouse they made the pictures even more craptacular than they are.. if thats even possible we used the glowsticks to throw down holes and ledges to see how deep or low a drop is. it actualy was actual usefull. we were about to go on the little platform on the 2nd floor to get the the roof. we noticed some of it was colapsed so we droped a glowstick and saw that under the ledge went 13 ft down to the first floor. otherwise we wouldnt have known. the two with hats on have the little hat lights i have a headlamp and the shaved head guy thinks he has human night vision -_- [last edit 6/8/2009 4:30 AM by Crab_Soul - edited 2 times]

| | | Posted by Ardamass The two people not wearing mask are super dumb. Those old Ice Factorys are insulated entirely with asbestos and that stuff doesn't just go away. Cool Place though
|
MMMM.... asbestos. Great with sushi! Always take the opportunity to sample some when it's available... LOL

| | | Yeah, that insulation is probably all pure asbestos and I have to wonder if those orb shots are actually particles of asbestos. Interesting place though. Too bad it looks like it's going to collapse at any moment. Nice old Coke paraphernalia too.

| | | mabey the orbs are ghosts? lol jk. yea all the orange on the pipes is probubly all asbestos. i think ammonia was used or some bad to breath chemical was used to make the ice at that time too. probubly what the tank was holding. as for collapseing most all of the walls are brick and concrete. the ceiling is and rotting. the floor on the 2nd floor seems to be raised from the first or something strange. since the ground is dirt and plants are growing on it. but if anyone is near shreveport ide love to have some more mature explorers to go with and explore the rest of the place. and hopefuly get some much better pictures [last edit 6/8/2009 7:43 PM by Crab_Soul - edited 2 times]

| | | Uhmm, surely you have better planning pics that you didnt post showing where the light infantry will engage from the high ground after the ninja shock forces halo in and call in the airstrike one half klick from the DA's parking lot ??? Holy crap is that a Chevy Suburban? [last edit 6/16/2009 12:19 AM by Explorer Zero - edited 1 times]

| | | lol nope. i like to role play alot so i do have my militaristic fantasy with it. the suburban was the owner. but as you can see he only uses a tiny part of the building sealing off the rest of it as a ghostly ice factory rarely entered by humanity... but chyea we had to record what times of day he was there and not. also the patrol from the nearby hospitol ect ect. quite a fun one to plan.

| | | dnd is badass... just has a bad rep. we also are going to start makeing these little intel dvds. and hide them around the city. they are code locked so you cant watch it unless you know the code witch i will give to my team only. so any random person who stumbles upon it cant watch it. they will be well hidden thow. itll have an intel video witch me and my brother will shoot. my dad owns a studio so we have a ton of access to hd cameras and editing softwear. just love to enhance the experince... i have an imagination.. why waist it...
