I actually agree with this kid...

I've been investigated by two other organizations as well because of pictures I've posted on the web, and I didnt even post the location names. The NCIS are the only ones who have actually stuck me with any charges so far. If you are unsure of whether or not to post something, just dont do it.

What became of that?

I shoot photos.

I know I have been on a few sites and taken shots of myself in that location or a buddy took a shot of me in a site example "Millbrook" and he took a shot of me by an elevator. If the OPP out here wanted to take me in they would have pressed charges on me a long time ago. If you feel unsecure about posting photo's taken at a site don't do it, but a lot of people have been posting there photo's on this site since it's open and as far as I know no one has ever been arrested for posting something on here.

It's your call but I've posted many photo's on this site and have never been arrested or charged with doing so.

It might go down the way things did with that Carnevale guy - a cop sees it, gets pissed and personally sees that shit gets investigated (even if the owner refuses to press charges). Gotta watch out for an LEO having a bad day...

They came after us after seeing my pictures on flickr. Just because it was a high profile location doesnt mean its not related.

That's true. So the lesson is - if it's active, and it's related to the government...use caution. I take pics of NASA and when I'm there I have to ask what I can and can't take pics of. It's funny - some things are off-limits for weird reasons.

I can't believe they busted you for Flickr pictures. Is there a thread on that somewhere I can read? I'm interested in knowing what happened.

how the hell can the authorities prove that your not a third party that received photos from someone else and simply posted them?

They can harass you and take you to court, which is a hassle, and bully you. No they may not be able to "prove" it but with the laws the way they are these days, in the US if they see pics they don't like they can take action against you. I didn't say it would be legal. Investigations can suck just as much as being arrested. I was just meaning, you do have to be careful if you want to take pictures of things that should not be photographed according to the government.

Remember most users on here post stories with their pictures. Not a lot of people go "oh, yeah, these are my friends pictures."

I can't imagine that too many cops/law enforcement agencies spend too much time looking over UER and other sites looking for people trespassing, I'm not too concerned, just be smart, use common sense.
