| | | Having moved to the area after this mall was shut down in 2000, I was never in it when it was open for business. So I have no memories or stories to tell, but I am still intrigued every time I go by the mall. One of the anchors (JC Penney) is still open for business, but the rest of the mall is sealed off.

| | | The odor of mold and mildew was evident throughout the building. Other than the ceiling tiles, the interior was in relatively good shape as far water damage and vandalism was concerned, just a bit messy. There was water damage on some of the walls, and there was graffiti spray painted in five or six places. There can be no doubt that the building will continue to deteriorate with time, especially with the roof leaking the way it is. It will be interesting to see how much will change in the next few years, although some maintenance may take place because JCPenney is still open at this time. More pics attached.

| | | Sweet place, I live near Manitowoc and run near it on the Maritime Trail nearly every day. I've never tried to get inside but I want to sometime. Let me know if you plan on going in again, no one I know around here is into UE. [last edit 8/17/2009 5:22 PM by Green_Ghost - edited 1 times]

| | | More pics added. The exterior pics are from early October, showing the plant growth that took place over the spring and summer. The plant growth is not only evident in the cracks and crevices in the pavement, but it is also occurring on top of almost every door overhang and the three arched canopies that cover the main entrances to the abandoned mall. Not much plant growth around the still-opened and maintained JCPenney. Other pics are from this past spring.
