I shouldn't... But I did. I mean to go driving around to search new ones. And I did found one. Magazines that there were were from '80s... House wasn't so impressive what comes to outside views, but that little sauna on that hill... Love at first sight!

More from you

I am loving Reflections from the reality. Good summer has arrived so you can turn your nose up at that car of yours.

A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.

Sweet car!

Good taste!

And good reason to post some more from today, and even not so off-topic (this factory area is quite abandoned, or at least some part of it). By the way, we did have to drive there over bridge. Over wooden bridge. Over very weak looking wooden bridge. But it did take us over rapid waters, and even back.

That is a sweet car! Man and Machine in very MC Escher-esque. Great shots. The tree perspective in the sauna pic is outrageous!

You and me will all go down in history, with a sad Statue of Liberty, and a generation that didn't agree.

Thank you very very very much - even here are to my eyes much more talented photographers - I'll appreciate that very very very much.

Keep your thumbs up, I'll get money next week, so it is time for little UE search ride... Anyway, here comes one picture from today. If that ain't ancient art, then what is? Would be nice to know how many rounds it has turned before the last stop... Details from local, abandoned mill.

Due to the economic crunch here. My company has mandated every Engineer take 4 weeks unpaid leave of absence. One week at a time each quarter.

My second MULA is next week. I intend to use this time for some day trips. I have purchased a new D40 and an older Mamiya 645. While having to take time off without pay sucks, I am looking forward getting out and about.

I will post some of my daily trips.

That is so damned familiar to me. I did get to work one quite small company at 2001. After that there were probably two years that there weren't lay-offs, and most years I was most of the time on those. And last autumn, company did bankruptcy so thats all for that - I am unemployed again. I also was working half year (at last year between lay-offs) on one company, that did end factory here and move whole production to some cheaper countries, after 40 year here.

It is very poor work situation here right now. I can manage as far as I will get higher unemployment benefit (I am in workers association and they pay higher benefit for 500 days) but after that we gonna be in trouble, basic benefit is so small.

Only good thing in this is increased spare time, I really appreciate that, it is good for photographing.

But good luck for your trips - I am looking and waiting for your results!

Superior shots, and looks like the Family Truckster from Nat'l Lampoon's Vacation!

I'm loving these! I think the photo of the little sauna on the hill is my favorite. It looks like something from a children's story (or horror flick... funny how the most innocent, child-like things can seem equally eerie!)

Loving the wagon, too. I have lots of fond memories of riding around in one of those back in the day.

Thank you very very very much!

This is gonna get off-topic again, I am sure of that but... There sure is something in those older, big wagons (we always laugh with my brother (even we probably should cry) when they are talking these todays stw's and calling them BIG WAGONS - that is absolutely SICK!). There were lot of those in Finland past years, especially those '80s models, because there were that kind of tax thing that if you did remove back seat (you could put there new, self made one with thin cushion and whole seat 90 degrees angle) you did get much more cheaper tax (I'll think that Finland is only place in the world were this kind of idiotism was/is possible). So there were lot of those, but use was hard and many didn't care shit about maintenance, so it is really hard to find good one today. I'll think that someday they gonna be wanted cars again, as soon as there ain't too much of 'em.

Maybe I should tell you more true stories from this western wonderland... At least few others to small example:

-One gallon regular fuel have cost over 8,5 dollars per gallon at its high at last year (and over 80 percent of that is tax)

-There is law that you can't change - I am not sure if I remember this percent right but - over 40 percent parts to your car; if you do, you have build a new car and you have to pay new car's taxes etc.

It is some kind of miracle that here in Finland is so strong car culture still... Because they have tried to kill it for so many years. Anyway, it is still going on strong, as you can see down there, this is once in a year kind of happening in my hometown:

(and sorry about this off-topic idiotism but I am true idiot)

Hey m8, I've looked over both your recent posts and I really dig your style...The desaturized HDR works really well for some of those old places...Absolutely amazing and curious angles too.

Great work, Look forward to seeing more!

Thank you very much!

I did actually try to get more from that abandoned factory, we have some kind of holiday today here, so I did tought that everybody is sleeping late so I wake early and get there. Morning it did even rain, so I did be more pleased. But what the fuck, there is river going side that factory, and there were some ducking fishermans there! So thats all for photos today.
