I didn't call anyone elitists, I called them /nerds/ - elitist nerds.

Which I would modify to: elitist nerds with retardation where their empathy ought to be.

Congratulations, lets all pat ourselves on the back and and circle-jerk on Ian's grave - 'cause we belong to a small subset of people who know that when it rains, a drain can fill up explosively fast to lethal levels.

Many of us learned this the hard way through close calls, through the close calls of others - or from hearing about the occasional terrible death.

Well, Ian didn't fucking know, and he died. There are many, many more people out there who - for many various reasons, all just as legit as our own - enjoy recreational trespassing, but aren't in any way involved with 'UE' - and who didn't get the "when it rains, no drains" memo.

Yes, Ian Talty made a stupid decision and it cost him his life. But other than that, he was fascinated by the beauty of urban decay, from rust to graffiti. He loved to see nature taking back over the works of man. He loved the art that anonymous people make under bridges, in tunnels, along railroad tracks. He sought to capture and share the beauty he saw with others, as a photographer. And he had a great time doing it.

I encourage the jerks who want to smear the guy to spend some time reading his words, looking at his photos, and reading the comments of those who appreciated him deeply.

Even if you don't find him to be a kindred spirit as I do, you should at least recognize that there is nothing about his life or death that you have any right or reason to look down upon from some pathetic high horse.

Grow a fucking heart.

I just hope that when your own stupid choices lead to your death someday, Ian's waiting to rub your face in it real good on the other side.

Ahahaha, speaking of high horses... look in the mirror, pal. I didn't post to "smear" the guy, I was just pointing out that people were going a little bit too far out of their way to avoid the elephant in the room, which is the dumb decision that these guys made. I'm sure Ian's got a very sore forehead "on the other side" from smacking himself. Shit happens, bad shit happens, no sense pussyfooting around it. Might as well make sure people learn a lesson from it.
