| | | Barn off the starboard bow! < on 4/7/2009 8:46 PM >
| | | After driving the back roads of Madison Wisconsin and lamenting the lack of any good abandoned farmhouses or barns, lo and behold! There it was! An abandoned decrepit old barn with a few sheds and outbuildings nearby. I did not expect to find anything major but felt good I finally had something to work with! The site itself is barren but near to other farms, and I am pretty sure it is semi-active because I saw a few pieces of newer farm machinery there and some fresh hay bales. I did not mess with anything and only came to take pictures, to work with what i had found. I realise a farm is not the most exciting place to visit, and hardly a thrill to many of you much more seasoned and experienced explorers. For myself, it was a thrill to finally find a place pop up and yell "DO ME" after searching in vain for something just like this to work with. I tried to get some interesting pics of the decay, and I sincerely hope you enjoy what came out of my trip! Any criticism or comments welcomed! 1.

| | | That barn looks pretty cool! Got any other exteriors? I'd like to see some from inside that show the size too.

| | | Here are some more shots of the exterior and the interior. I did not go to what would have been the upper floor as it was exposed and I was not sure if it was safe. I plan to go back for some new shots because in my haste to get some shots as fast as i could of course I missed a lot of texture and light, and spent too little time on the awesome stone foundation walls! Another exterior shot of the barn
The lower part of the structure
Out of service - light is out and no one is home!
Inside shot showing doorway to the silo room which long ago lost its roofing
Doorway to silo
Pretty sure this would have been somewhere near the top of the silo to channel grain in from below. I bet tons and tons and tons of grain passed through it!

| | | Nice! Judging by the looks of the floor, I'd say it was abandoned in the midst of being repaired.

| | | I have reposted this entire set in better quality at my Photobucket page. You can also see some of my other work including the Garver feed mill and supply company and a filthy crusty rusty nasty cool Madison factory at the main page for my albums. This link will take you to the main page to select an album to look at. Any criticisms, comments, suggestions, lauds, questions all welcome! Here is the link! http://s663.photob...353/Noogie_Madwis/ Thanks Matt
