I have way too many shoes.

usually just wear these. Got them for $19.85 at an REI clearance. They had my size (8.5) and a pair of 14's left. Was lucky as hell.

Also have these for climbing (rock/wall). Got them for $30 at EMS. Some good deals out there if you are willing to look.

Have a pair of waterproof/winter boots (Garmont Vegans, vibram soles) and a spare pair of lace climbers (Boreals diablos)

Not to mention sneakers... Have a pair of KSO fivefingers on backorder. No idea when they're gonna get in. Will be nice to have something semi-comfortable that is also capable of smearing/slab work. Hard to climb in ascent shoes, hard to explore in climb shoes.

A few of my shoes from left to right

dressy shoes, expensive running shoes, new pair of military issue combats boots Ive never worn, new pair of steel toe boots Ive yet the need for, steel toe boots from work/dirty areas, ue running shoes, and crappy running shoes

closeup of my workboots, these are great when the weather has been shit, theyre a bit heavy though.

these are my main shoes when I ue, theyre made for using the "pose" running method and theyra suppose feel like your in bare feet. very light, almost to light

It pays to look at the tread pattern on the sole, and think about how well you'll be able to jam it into chainlink. This is why I hate my docs for exploring (sorry, Willskith )

+1 hiking shoes/boots.

But anyway, I fail to see the value of boots over sneakers if you have decent calf muscle mass...

Boots offer way more protection. I'm more comfortable walking over broken glass or boards with nails sticking out with boots than shoes.

Also, ew.
