| | | Oh sounds like a plan I'll look those up. I do want to be able to wear them TO the site as well y'know. Stroll around downtown with my footgloves on yup! Last night I made it to the top of a telephone pole just for fun. Used the bus sign and freeclimbed from there in my skater shoes. Would have been no issue with something that had GRIP.

| | | I personly like Pumas I am kinda like you and can climb really well and shoes make a big difference! I hate boots and heelys or skate shoes they are the worst! So its either Nike crosstraining shoes or some Puma crosstraining shoes New Balance used to be cool also but they dont last me as long . As far as protection from debris well when I was doing fencing I found out if a nail is long enough it will go through a hiking/ combat boot!
The world is my playground I will not be held back! |

| | | I didn't have to look very far before I found these Chameleon Treks by Merrell Price is right so you don't feel bad about busting them up and they are hella-sticky...I choose leather most of time because if you maintain them they treat you right...
Scope the specs ;) http://www.merrell...&menu_id=15&zoom=1

| | | Ok I'm saving up for my 5's but in the meantime I scored big time for only $10. Brand new from the Salvation Army, I got a pair of blue Nike Cortez Nylon runners and they feel like moccasins. My footwear of choice as a child in the northern wilds of Ontario's Boreal Forrest. I wear them tight and without socks and they are like a second skin. I love these shoes. Mine are the same/ but blue

| | | An excellent alternative to fivefingers is split-soled jazz shoes, and split-soled dance sneakers. Your foot can still achieve a full arch, but there's protection on the heel and toe.

I'm finally retiring a pair I've owned for like 9 years, and I'll be buying another set, almost exactly the same.

I have a denim apron with pockets, one legged jeans with padding in crucial areas and hooks for a flashlight that look pretty much like my regular hey I stand out but fit in punk style. The best part is I look like a boy. But if I take my long sleeve shirt off and wrap it around my waist the apron makes it look like I'm wearing a skinny summer dress and I just pull off my hat and pants. My bag looks like a normal bag any girl would have. I'm bi-gendered so it all works out!

OK, curiosity is killing me... Can we see before and after pics of this?? Sounds cool... glad you found your shoe solution btw!!

| | | Feiyues are very good for climbing, though they take some getting used to and might not be the best for protection depending on how you walk. But for any application that needs agility and comfort, they're top-notch and very cheap (like $15 on Amazon).

| | | This thread is amazing, very helpful. I live in the cold of Canada so I just bought a pair of winter hikers, don't do too much for helping me climb as they're a little heavy but the grip is amazing, they're -40 approved and completely waterproof, I scaled three walls with them so far and they're great. However, now I'm going to need something for summer, and I also climb barefoot, I'm gonna look at those creepy toe shoes...Thanks for starting this thread

| | | I haven't heard that the company has stopped making them. their website is still up and running.
Yesterday I'm in an army surplus shop, and once again, I scored a great deal on shoes because I have 'sample size' feet (fyi - almost all men's shoe samples come in 9.5). I grabbed a pair of medium height (just over the ankle) black police boots for $75. They are to replace my motorcycle boots, but will serve double duty as winter boots until I finally get another pair of Blunnies.
^ similar to the above, but not exactly the same

| | | I wear fivefingers ksos for a lot of things these days. I tend to avoid them for places where I want more foot protection but for everything else they rawk.

| | | i picked up some Merrell Chameleon Evos and they're great so far. thick soles, good grip, and they have gore-tex lining for when it's cold and wet. i wore them all over Europe, great backpacking shoe. if you want even more grip, check out 5.10's Freerunner. stupid grip, built more like an athletic shoe.
