| | | I actually like #5, would love it if the windows weren't fringed to hell. Edit 1: That is a good use of the fisheye because it captures the height of the place with fairly minimal distortion (compared to the others). Edit 2: I would've loved to see this same shot framed just a little higher so we got less floor and a little bit of the higher ceiling. The portrait is good, too! I really wish I had been more together that day, I HDRed a few of these but my dumbass was shooting at F5.6, the auto-bracket on my camera is stupid... it changed the Fstop and not the exposure time, i have no idea how or if I can change it. The lens i shoot with is a 10-17, I tried to keep it at 17 to minimalize distortion.

| | | Shooting auto bracket saves me from slight camera movement on my shitty tripod, otherwise id never use it. 17mm doesn't distort much, Given if i am shooting at 17 i should just switch to the 18-55 but im lazy lol [last edit 3/13/2009 7:29 PM by Senseriffic - edited 1 times]

My face is to pretty to hide. Though my eyes look like I got beat up in that last one About 4 hours sleep between 6am wakeup Friday and crashing at 1am Monday morning after I got home will do that to you. I'm the only idiot wearing a tee shirt BTW. It's probably against most of you guys "photographers code" but I could do wonders with these shots using only "Smart Photo Fix..." in PSP-X. But I'm not a photographer so I don't care what post processing needs to be done. If it makes the shot better, I would do it.

| | | not to be an ass (this is probably the nice version of what tullo was trying to say anyway) but the lens you're using is too wide for basically all of those shots. maybe you're too lazy, but I'd suggest just slapping the 18-55 back on there and shooting at f/8 or something to kill any softness. as you noted, it's kinda pointless to even be using the 10-17 if you're just shooting at 17 all the time. the 18 on the 18-55mm is plenty wide enough for all of the scenes you captured there, which would have been otherwise pretty good.

Very good point and I did this yesterday I was like... why the fuck am i shooting with the fisheye I dont need it...I switched back to the 18-55 and liked my shots muccch better. I was just too caught up in the newness of the fisheye, this is the first extra lens besides my portrait lens that I bought for myself. Yeah I have huge boobs... yes they are real... no you can't touch lol

Pick up a book on your camera, It will teach you everything you need to know. Shooting in manual really acquires the look you want. You can bump the fstop , or change the ISO, shutter speed, etc. Until you get the look you want. You might take a shot 5 times while changing the settings. But when its right, its right. Also shoot in RAW...

| | | Even shooting in aperture priority mode is fine for a higher level of manipulation that isn't too overwhelming. I use it because I can have easy control over my aperture without having to worry about resetting the exposure for each shot. For the majority of shots I do, I only need to change the aperture or ISO anyway. It's very rare that I feel I need to manipulate the shutter speed. addition on boobs noted.
