Fixed your link

Nice find. There are some absolutely gorgeous spots in Detroit.

http://www.forgottendetroit.com/ is also a good place to find pictures of the crumbling city.

that is a nice find. rolling stone recently did a story on detroit too:
http://www.rolling...tor_city_breakdown
although theirs focuses mainly on the state of the auto industry, but as goes the auto industry so goes detroit.
and, please forgive me, but i can't control my compulsion to post this image almost every time a detroit thread emerges:

They do excellent work. Those Detroit photos are a couple years old, I'm not sure why Time is just featuring this now.

I've been thinking the same thing, and pardon my ignorance as I've never been through Detroit, but aren't serious chunks of the city basically lawless no-man's zones?

Pack some extra drawers, and a nine.

LOL... I'm sure I could find one in my neighbourhood. There seems to be at least a shootings a week within 10 minutes of my house.

Very often a news outlet will have these stories set aside as fill for a slow news day or for their less serious departments. So the articles may be a bit dusty, but they may not be immensely time-critical.

Keep in mind that some photographers will spend years working on projects before they go public with them. At the very least, it takes time to get your stuff out there and recognized to the point where it can appear on Time's website.
