However, at the end of the day, usually at least half the party members had borrowed one of my items. I wouldn't laugh at you. A few explores ago someone I was with opened his trunk and there sat a laptop open and running hooked up to the internet (no wifi around, subscription) and we google mapped the place we were about to explore, staring at it through the fence....that was just cool.
