So I finally got my first SLR the other day. Been messing around with it a bit trying to figure stuff out. These are a couple shots from the Piedmont Flour Mills in Lynchburg VA.

These shots were done with a nikon D40 and the 18-55 lens it came with. Exposures were 30 seconds at F22 and iso like 800 or something. For light I used my Shurefire 6P led and some old blue and red filters I got out of some old army surplus flashlights.

definitely going in the right direction. i like the third a lot.
first thing i would suggest is to get a cable release. get beyond 30 second and lower than ISO800.

also, the blue in the first is overwhelming.

grit your teeth in the face of fear. self repression is the true sign of a coward, toss your inhibitions to the wind.
