Obviously your figure is the focal point here, so maybe if it was darker in the foreground my eye would be led more to the shape of a person. I think the blue-tinted light is also distracting on the dam wall. 2) Neat, but if you took a few steps (or didn't leave your headlamp on as long) you could have better preserved the highlights in the settling pond and it would be less of a pull for me. A little touch of contrast might make those bricks pop more, too.
