'Rainy day - november sadness'

Car doesn't work properly, rain did start as soon as I did get outside, so most of that hour or two I did spend just listening rain in those abandoned buildings. After that trip I did have three photos and wet camera.

I liked all three, but the third, in particular is amazing. Thanks!

You seem to be refining that style of yours with each set. Well, the monochrome ones, anyway - that first one has a great texture to it. The coloured ones, though... I don't think I've seen one yet that has a personal style in the same way that the monochromes do.

Technical stuff aside, I like the kind of melancholy stuff you're shooting, especially the house exteriors. No Milk Today doesn't really do anything for me, though - it just seems a bit generic. It's the overgrown houses that do it for me

And thanks for that too (I'll take it as an compliment). I don't know how it comes, but somehow somethings work sometimes better than other, I mean like these photos; with colours... They were quite... Nothing. In black and white... Not good. Then I did try to monochromatic, and that did give that mood that was in my mind (even I didn't know it for sure before I did see it). And against those that one with colours did work only with colours, colours are that thing and colours give that mood to it.

And I like outside pictures too, there's something magical to see nature going wild, taking its own back. It is something like time stands still but everything changes. I've try to learn to see wider too - for long time I was more in details and smaller views. I still do those too, but especially in (almost too) familiar place, it is worth to try see different way to find something new. Many times very small difference in angle or position or time can mean lot.

By the way - wish me luck; there are full moon still two or three days, and I've dreamed for many months to get some photos from there in full moon light. Weather is still cloudy, but there are slight possible that...

By the way, because bad weather I did take some video from there too. And now I am sure that video ain't my thing.

I would not say that video is not your thing. Nice to see more from that place. The rain added to it, nice walk around with no extra unneeded cheese. Much better than some attempts I have seen as far as video (mine included).

I love 3, makes me wonder about an older couple enjoying a warm afternoon in that swing at their adorable home.

A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.

Thanks Shellyl, but those are dangerous words; if I get enough that kind of shit to my head I even could do more videos (and that would be crime against humanity). Cheers!

That is really dangerous talk - if I get enough that to my head I maybe someday will...

By the way, I did go there by yesterday night. And of course it did start raining by half way there. And moon was covered by clouds, so I didn't get proper moonlight at all. Anyway I must try it again sometimes, at least then when we get snow (=much more light and totally different mood). Flashlight could be good too, for light painting.

Anyway, it was quite moody there; surrounding forest and those abandoned buildings with some noises... And that darkness. It was really dark. That photo above has ISO 1600 and 15 seconds exposure, and by that time there were less clouds front of moon, so you can imagine how dark it was even with moon, and without it... You couldn't see your own feets. Bit of spooky I admit...

Thank you for putting words to something that, for me, is a very hard feeling to describe. I think the video is fantastic. It perfectly expands upon the mood already expressed in the photos.

"The day will come when fences shall be multiplied, and man-traps and other engines invented to confine men to the public road, and walking over the surface of God's earth shall be construed to mean trespassing on some gentleman's grounds."
- Thoreau (1851)

I like #3 as well very haunting, you can get a sense to when the place had life by the swinging chairs.
