love these, the way the last one is shot it almost feels like i'm looking at the picture upside down, don't know if anyone else felt that too. haha i actually flipped my laptop over and looked at it, just something to look at i suppose.

One day I'll have to try shooting in film, I just love the look. Very nice shots! They really have a nice feeling of rot to them.

telling someone they're photos are "good" doesn't help in a critique thread

first off, why the background color around all the photos? it takes 2 seconds to ditch that and it'll make these look 10 times better

1 - very underexposed and leaning to the left pretty bad

2 - leaning to the right, yellow color cast. i would have brought the tripod down a ways to get rid of all that ceiling thats showing up top and cleaning up the lines like the wall meeting the ceiling on the right top and the wire covering on the top left. it would bring the photo together much better and give it more of a flow

3 - square your camera before you take a shot, it's tilted up in this making the composition off, you can also fix the contract/underexposure/overexposure in photoshop

4 - again, square your camera this angle this was taken at is very off and gives the viewer the impression that it's crooked even though it looks pretty straight. the horizontal lines are way off.

5 - i would have shot this vertically because you left a lot of nothing on the two far sides where the wall is, there's nothing interesting there and it makes the photo look empty, it's leaning very much to the left and is very over/under exposed in certain points. again.. you could fix this in photoshop very easily.

6 - same deal as number 5, there is a lot of nothing in this picture making it boring, the lighting for the most part is nice. i wish you waiting until later in the day to take this to avoid the extreme light coming in the windows on the right. it is also colorcasted very blue

7 - underexposed, again with the squaring.. this photo is taken at such an awkward angle it makes my head hurt a little

to top it all off, why would you scan prints? i feel that is the culprit here with the softness and some of the color casting.

Good stuff adaliz. Composition of #3 draws the eye right outside. I wanna go sit in the chair and look out.

Jeff, thanks for taking the time to critique. I swear every time I do it I get yelled at, so I don't really take the time to do it much anymore. I will try to follow your lead in the future.

i wouldn't yell. i'm not arrogant so I would take your critique to make myself better (so long as you're not mean about it). i think everyone here is learning, at different levels, but learning nonetheless. so if people post stuff and expect only to get compliments - they're idiot.

thanks jeff. always 'preciate it.
