I am seriously looking for critique and opinions. Let me know what you think about these.

While revisiting Beelitz i could not see any new shots that i thought where worth taking, so i decided to do some self portraits. Thank you Bianca for the long black coat!

number two is fucking incredible. the tone of your pictures are awesome.

grit your teeth in the face of fear. self repression is the true sign of a coward, toss your inhibitions to the wind.

My only teensy, tiny complaint is that the second one looks a little crooked.

Otherwise, simply incredible.

Overall I like them, but you asked for critique (and I am sick of having to preface critiques or I get yelled at for being mean)

The first one is too crooked and has too much of a tilt for my liking. Also, the blow out on the window is distracting.

With the second one, I think you could use more shadow on the underside of the staircase. I also think it might be better with a tighter crop.

Que pasa, baby?

I agree the second shot looks crooked, I also think there's a lot of floor in the shot and it doesn't lend itself perfectly to the vertical shot. Did it you try taking it horizontally, or maybe from an angle (versus straight-on)?

I'm envisioning a photo taken with the camera at the right corner of the arch looking across the archway... darkness on the left going to yellow-green brightness with the staircase lines leading to you standing there.

Maybe I just want to see you closer in the image...

He is a very talented photographer, I like the tilt, classic Twilight Zone technique to put the viewer off guard. Good to mess with the 'rules' Learn em, then break em. Cheesy? Sure, who cares, it's fun.

The mask is terrifying in the right situation. Actually any situation. Imagine waking up with that snoot nuzzling your face

@ hippy@heart: i put it up myself and took some - by then B, H and F where there too...tired of running between the camera and the spot i asked them to click. I now got a remote for this kind of things.

@ argonian: thanks! you got a good point about the light in #2, it was in the afternoon so the sun was directly above the whole in the ceiling. I didn't use any additional lighting. I like the natural border that the building creates therefore this framing.

hehehe also true

@ Glass: hmmm....second one crooked...yes indeed....hmmmm How do you mean it doesn't lend itself for a vertical shot? I think it does - i didn't even try taken this horizontally.

I'm envisioning a photo taken with the camera at the right corner of the arch looking across the archway... darkness on the left going to yellow-green brightness with the staircase lines leading to you standing there.

Could've / should've tried this but haven't. good idea!

@ A. Lien: thank you!

And thanks everyone!

I shudder at the sheer thought of seeing someone dressed like this while exploring...that would be terrifying.

These are amazing photos, just the perfect amount of light.

Really nice work - "bit" of different (and much better) than most selfportraits! (I've seen too much of those ordinary ones in DeviantArt, I think)
