San Diego Drain Map

Do we have any drainers in San Diego? No? Well there better be soon, because I just found something very useful:
http://www.sandieg...urmp/jurmpapp4.pdf
A storm drain map for all of San Diego!

Is there any way to tell the size of the drains from this map?
I have a request: Could someone experienced with photo shop try to overlay this on a road map? Is that possible?

Sometimes I wonder if my obsession with flashlights led to my interest in Urban Exploration, or conversely, if my
interest in exploration led to my flashlight obsession

I love you Assistance. I (try to) do draining in the summer when I am in San Diego. Last summer I went with some people and we ended up getting our group on the news (more about it in the picture gallery here). I would be willing to drain basically weekly when I am back for work.

You got caught draining? Lol? That's why big groups can be troublesome. I like the hobo hideout. That's one of my favorite UE picture, and I've seen loads of them. It's not that it's particularly well shot. It just stirs the imagination knowing that someone lived there for any length of time. Next time you go UE/Draining down near San Diego, give me a PM, that is if you have any extra room.

Regarding the map, I was hoping that someone else could find a map of the appropriate size for each section. Could you get a Google map satellite or road map and strech it/smush it to the correct size? If you don't want to or can't, it's no big deal. It's still very usable. I just thought that it would be really cool to be able to tell where you are and where you can get to from underground.

interest in exploration led to my flashlight obsession

The San Diego harbor police were really chill about it. Basically "Yeah, thats kind of dangerous...probably shouldn't be doing that...move along, see you later." The news just thought it was intriguing. The big group was fun, we just didn't coordinate a timely escape. Also, the exit was in front of hundreds of tourists, which meant we got tons of awesome reactions. Overall, it made for a fantastic afternoon, much laughs and good stories.

I haven't done any serious urban exploration but I've always loved exploring. From forests to office buildings, the thought of "what could be around the next corner?" is always in my head. I also love driving through tunnels. A couple days ago I walked through a couple short storm drains that just went across/under single streets but I loved it.

Anyway, how safe would it be to just follow one of the maps and try to find some cool underground tunnels? As I said, I really love that stuff but I'm apprehensive about trying it and I don't really know who to bring with me. I'm not even sure how accessible any significant tunnels are in this area as it's fairly new. I live in Lake Forest.
