Guess I missed the mention of a specific Crowley site to look for everyone else.
I'm about to leave the Hard 8. Don't know where y'all went but I tried to get out here by noon and missed by about 25 minutes.

Great weather for a ride, and really fantastic BBQ!

Never got a meet point from anyone, but that didn't stop me from heading to Crowley. Before I left, I sent a couple of PMs asking where I should be. Near Crowley, I stopped at a parking lot to check for replies. Only one, asking if I was still there, but still no actual directions. Made a pass through town, kept my eye out at gas stations, donut shops, fast food places and cafes, but didn't see any bikes.

Hung out at the Shamrock (I think) station at I35 and 1178 until about 9:30, didn't see anyone that looked familiar--I'd only met SilentSearch at a previous meetup in Deep Ellum.

Determined, I took 1187 West, then 2331 South, remembering the FM 4 route discussed. I got all the way to Morgan before I realized FM 4 does not actually go though Stephenville, so I gave up and took 927 West to 144 and headed North to 67. From there it was a (relatively) straight shot to Stephenville, and the Hard 8.

Perhaps "Missions" and "Motorcycle Rides" don't mix, but... mission accomplished.

Once there, I saw the craziest bike in the parking lot:

As stated, they have some primo BBQ!

On the way in, I saw evidence of a town with a name that lent itself to some crazy images: Three Way, Texas.

When I was in school, I'd have loved to say I play for or attend "Three Way."

Something else I "found" along the way...

I also found a little abandoned house along the way:

As I walked in the front door--which looked to have been kicked in--I took this picture of a pile of clothes in a closet:

Perhaps remnants of a theft?

The obligatory "pot-shot."

Oddly, there was a spool of ribbon on the floor:

A couple of random pictures from inside the house:

I had to step carefully; parts of the floor were missing:

There were remnants of a Commodore computer. Here's the monitor:

Here's the main CPU, and a closeup:

A little Easter Basket and a pair of someone's shoes were left behind:

Well I did more freeway riding today than I've ever done before. To the disdain of some, I'd mentioned I wanted a windscreen. But that wouldn't have helped this. Those are bugs on my jeans. I gotta go do laundry now... Bye.

we're old guys and dont carry wifi laptops or blackberries on the bikes so we couldnt call you without your cell # (SS carries a GPS though!

anyway you only missed out on the mud ride to the ruins (spent 2+ hours after I got home just washing the mud out of everything)

my bike is not a very good dirt bike by any stretch of the imagination

Sent the cell to Silent once I got there at about 9:00 AM. Probably too late.
Didn't know it was the thing to do until I thought it up myself.

The specifics of the start point seemed to be a well guarded secret, but that's okay.
I still had a great time "goin' mobile" on my own. I just stayed on the pavement!

So where are y'all's pics?

And its full of grist milling goodness too, I dont think Id like it with red blue and green flash but each to his own, early morning sun from the east would be better

(we can go back when it aint so muddy my engine got covered and that mud was like hardened concrete after baking all day down there)

as promised Slick Willy's Post Office Paluxy TX 76467

I noticed the dogs leave something special by the back door each night for the postmaster

if youre in the market for a used HD, chopper, custom, etc theres Texas Dream Machines on Luna north of I635 good honest people to deal with just go by and look at the selection

(hundreds of people buy these kind of bikes and end up not being able to ride them or afford them so lots of turn over in the inventory)

for the record, Texas Dream Machines has moved to the NB I35 service road just past the creek north of I635 in the same bldg as a dirt bike ATV shop

I can't believe no one has a destination in mind.
I picked the last one. We can go back or a little farther if you like, say around Lake Whitney or something.

Sounds good. We could all meet in Hillsborough and ride from there. We can print out a list of places in the DB and check em all out just for an update.
