You and Kooda should come west and let's ride out to the Hard 8 in Stephenville for lunch one sat. We can take the back roads to stay away from the water trucks.

| | | Living in Waco now, tstc campus. has a couple abandoned dorm buildings, but way to high of a police presence 24/7 and not really worth the effort. up for checking out local sites if anyone would like to come along, like general tire.

Im ready, lets do it. Never been but almost did the backroads to Stephenville last weekend. Plan was to do Hwy 4 out of Palo Pinto but we ended up in Cranfils Gap via Glen Rose/Meridian back roads, had to avoid deer and thunder storms (got wet just the same) ate at the Horney Toad in Cranfils Gap. ps, we'll need to let some air out of Koodas tires I like to cruise under 90mph! ps ps, Hwy 4 is a nice ride ever done that one?

| | | I went looking around last night but didn't find much of interest here in Tulsa. Next stops: San Antonio; Houston, Dallas,Little Rock, Nashville, Chicago, Green Bay and Minneapolis. I'll have 4 or 5 days off in Chicago so I may find something fun.

| | | Wow. All this bike talk, and that's the reason I've been kinda off-line for a while. Took the safety course the first weekend in August, became the proud owner of an '02 Shadow 750 on the 6th and have been honing my riding abilities all month. Rode up to Plano for the meetup today. So when are all the UE bikers gonna bring it to a meeting dangit?

She's just excited to go. Hwy 4. That the one between Cleburne and Granbury? We will just have to tie an anchor to BK to slow him down. I like to cruise the backroads at about 45 to see the sights. You miss a lot when you pass things at 100 mph. We should set a day for a ride. Next Sunday would be good for me. We can all meet in Crowley and head out.

My first motorized transportation was a moped back in the early 80s, so in what's practically a past life, I'd done all the studying, learned the techniques, and passed the tests. But I'd never been on an actual bike. I couldn't have gotten on one without it. Just this past week a friend said something I wish they'd include in the course: "Ride like you're invisible." Great advice. Quick change of subject, I'd hoped to tag along on the ride next Sunday, but I didn't think I'd be able to (I have a standing Cowboys watching tradition). But since the game is Monday night, that frees up Sunday. Is it OK if I join y'all? <EDIT:>...That is, if it's an actual thing/still on, etc. [last edit 9/8/2008 3:10 AM by BugPowder - edited 1 times]

| | | More than anything, I *gasp* lost interest in exploring for a couple of years, and started lurking on UER only occasionally. Starting to get an interest again. Apparently our lovely moderator Raticus actually remembers me. Beyond that, I got to meet BugPowder, RobertB, ardamass, and Chaseofspades yesterday. That was fun, though they got to laugh at my poor navigational abilities.

| | | I've been out of it due to unemployment and trying not to spend much money on gas... Now I have a job so I don't have time to go anywhere. I've explored everything nearby so anything new is going to require travel. I do currently have my photos up at a local coffee house again.
