Hey there. Just stopping by to remind everybody "photo critiques" is for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism!

That being said, no offense Sgt. Pepper, but these are wayyyyy too cartoony for my tastes. I'd tone down the HDR just a tad. Maybe a large tad....

Oh sorry. Yeah, Dude. These are too overdone with the HDR. I didn't mean to be rude.

in all seriousness if you are trying to learn hdr, have you ever looked into flickr? theyre big on hdr on that site. theres tons of photos using it, theres discussion groups, etc etc. in this forum people generally frown upon it. that doesnt mean you should abandon use of it though if it interests you.

I think you got where people are going here, but yah, for my taste that's way too much saturation and the blue levels seem to be up there also. Everything seems blue.

Honestly it's also distracting me from seeing the shots you're trying to show. I would be interested in seeing some of the originals.

obviously i agree that the hdr is completely out of control, but i do like some of the lines and angles you have captured in these shots. i would like to see the originals as well.

Hi guys
Thanks for the comments. Here's a new batch, this time without any hdr, just some brightness/contrast adjustments. Still have some more of these laying around on
my harddrive, but i guess these are the most interesting ones.
Enjoy!

thank you...much easier on the eyes, and work much better as photos. i'm admittedly not a fan of hdr, but when done in small doses can be effective in the right photo. check out some of Wolfheart's work in various threads in this critique forum.

Quite often pictures taken from inside with big windows like that tend to have very low visibility through the windows and then HDR is awesome.
My personal way of going about doing it is to make it seem like its not HDR though. If my colleagues at work, who are aware of the HDR-technique but don't take photos themselves, doesn't say "Thats HDR, right?" i have succeeded.
But hey, to each his own...

I love the last one in non-HDR mode. Awesome stuff. Did you use a Circ-Pol on the sky, or is that done in PhotoShop? Or are the skies just that blue where you live?

No pol, no photoshop, just a plain UV filter on the lens. That day was particularly bright and with almost no clouds in the sky, so it came out really nice blue. I guess a pol filter would have made the sky darker and maybe not so nice...

They are much nicer without the hdr. Instead of that gallery thing built in to uer, try using a photo host like flickr or photo bucket and linking to the pictures using the picture icon in the menu.
