He mentions he is an urban explorer and the game takes place in a city where an attack occurs and anarchy is rampant(ie.Escape from New York).

I made a list of games, featuring abandonments here: http://klab.lv/use.../96663.html#cutid2

To name my favorites: Silent Hill and Forbidden Siren. Both are HEAVY on UE - especially in terms of aesthetics.

Did anyone mention Batman Begins for PS2? The abandoned Museum in particular.

Softly creeping through
Empty hallways decades old,
glimpsing history.

Someone's avatar on here a while ago was a screen shot of an abandoned building on Sim City 2000. I thought that was pretty clever.

One of the first UE sites I came across had a really clever interface, where his explored locations were represented with a map a-la Sim City. You'd click on the buildings to see the photo set. Very clever.

Interesting idea, but good lord that site is painful to look at.

Not sure if someone has mentioned the STALKER series but that is legit for the feeling. Also the upcoming Metro 2033 looks really cool

Excluding puzzle and arcade games, are there any that don't have abandonments or urbex in them?

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl

The whole game is an abandonment.

In the new one, Call of Prypiat, there are loads of buildings to check out (and as a bonus, it's significantly less buggy than SoC)

The Viaduct runs through the Callowhill Loft District, which is overrun with hipsters. This is just another one of those things a hipster would probably do.

Project Eden (PC/PS2)

http://en.wikipedi.../wiki/Project_Eden

A sort of obscure action/adventure game with huge emphasis on exploring the game's cyberpunkish environment. Lots of abandoned industrial and urban areas. Plus - you get to control a cool cyborg that looks like RoboCop!
I love it and recommend it to all of you.

Oh, and there's a mission in SWAT 3 where you search for bombs in a vast multi-level sewer system. Tried it many times, couldn't get past it and finally gave up on the game .
