Open the image, and try Image -> Mode -> RGB, and see if that resolves your issue. "  |  |  Re: Photoshop question??? <Reply # 2 on 8/17/2008 12:15 PM >   Open the original color photo and duplicate the layer go to image> adjustments> gradient map and make sure you have black as your primary color and white as your second color. This will turn the photo black and white. Then you make a layer mask and paint over the areas you want to be color with a soft black brush. When you get the look you want merge layers and your done. Or if your trying to do some hand painted thing. Make a new layer for each color, zoom in as much as you can and simply paint. Adjust opacity and blending options to taste.
