Hey guys,

I'm back for try number two. I think I've improved a little since last time, though I still would like to know what I can try to improve on. I have tough skin, so let 'em rip. All it can do is help me.

I'm now also shooting with a 35mm along with my original digital P&S. This set is from both cameras, see if you can tell which shots are from which camera.

Oh, also many thanks to nanguz for many things.

Thanks.

Your composition has improved a lot since your last round. This is also a really nice site to photograph. I don't really know enough about photography to say more than that.

Thanks guys! That's great to hear.
Now what don't you like about these shots? That's what I'm really interested in.

here we go:

#1 great light and nice colors - but i find the right side of the photo kind of taking my eyes of the actual subject.

#2 your vanishing point is now in the bottom left corner and although nothing's really wrong now, it might work better if you would've taken this shot with the vanishing point in the upper left. This way you create diagonal lines.

#3 nice shot! I would use ps to darken the bright bottom corner.

#4 LOVE IT! very nice how it shows the light from bright (even overexposed) to dark)

#5 nice colors, but this comp doesn't work for me.

#6 the subject doesn't pop out here like i think it should.

Four is great - really like that out-of-focus shape against the light. Nice.

Actually they look really nice. Since I have been to this place 123456789101112 time over the years I think I've seen and taken every shot from every angle possible...

1. Looks real nice. I would have eliminated the corner of the next booth showing maybe but maybe not.

2. really great idea but I might have got the whole first carving in by changing the angle slightly but that's not a big deal

3. Is nice, just not all that interesting in a way that someone who only saw this picture and nothing else might not realize that those are organ pipes on the bench

4. Four is lovely. It captures the real feel of the place

5. I think it should have been in portrait shape.

6. The subject blends in with the floor a bit too much.

@Martino and nanguz: Thank you both very much! That's exactly the type of feedback I need. All your comments are dead on and I wouldn't have ever noticed most of those things by myself.

@Metawaffle: Thank you!

I'm going to be doing some more shooting this weekend at a different site and I'll be keeping your comments in mind. I'm also going to be doing my first shots on B&W film. One thing I know I really need to work on is exposure times. There were many nice shots from this location that came out way underexposed (and windows over exposed). Even while attempting to bracket the shot by adjusting the aperture across its full range, I still failed miserably. But I still have a few more options that I can try. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
