| | | Had a lot of fun at my first meet up. Met a lot of cool people. I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked to, but I think the ones that I did are pretty cool.
First I met a homeless guy named Robert "Pa" Myers. As he said, "NOT MICHEAL MYERS. Just Pa Myers." He was a cool guy that told me some jokes that were pretty funny and pointed me in the direction of the cafe that we were meeting at.
Then we met up and went out. We found a little hole in a stairwell that led down into a little area. I went in and check it out...Here's what I found.
It was a little heartbreaking once I realized that it was a homeless man's home...which sounds like an oxy moron.
This child photo broke my heart. It made me wonder about the life of the person that lived there. How did this person end up here? Who is this child and when was the last time that they'd seen each other?
This was the person's...um...personal items.
Sleeping bag and dog pillow.
Once I went further into the tunnel, I jumped off a small ramp and met a new friend...
Here's the thing that broke my heart...
Wilted roses with the old photo...something poetic about it.
Now for my favorite photo. The whole time I had been wandering around the place and the ride home, I was wondering if the person that lived there was even alive anymore. That person could have died a few weeks ago. Months even. So...I leave you with this photo....
I didn't know this picture was like this until I got back to my home and started posting. I have done nothing to this picture in post and there was no way that my finger could have gotten in front of the flash or lens. There was no back lighting, and no one else in there with me. I'm a bit of a skeptic, but this looks pretty cool.... A Ghost Maybe?
And then, it asks the question: in a cold, uncaring, ruthless world of corporate slavery and assembly-line experiences . . . how is it possible to still live a life with strength, and passion, and with a soul that is still truly alive? |

40+ year olds with Myspace pages are not cool, they are pediphiles on the prowl. Buyer beware. |

| | | the guy in the beginning was not the guy that lived there. the guy that lived there was no where to be seen (as stated multiple time in my post), so NO. Not exploiting the homeless.

| | | I met a homeless guy in Dallas once too when I was wandering around taking pictures. He loved being in my pictures and introduced me to some other homeless people that were really cool. I listened to their stories and listened to them talk about life, and for me it was very entertaining. I don't see any exploiting homeless here... just some pretty cool pictures. I agree that last picture is kind of strange. Not sure what it could be, either.
Thanks for sharing... I enjoyed reading your post.

| | | sorry dude, not trying to be a dick. as someone who has worked with the homeless, I have seen exploitation many times, like with those rich kids and the youtube videos ( I wont to chop those bumfight kids up ). anyway, do what ya do and have fun. =)

| | | thanks man
truth of the matter is that i am very very interested in the homeless and their way of life. once while in austin i lived with a homeless guy for two days and did the whole nine yards so that i could figure out how they do what they do i traded him clothes, messed up my hair, and begged for money and food. got spit on, laughed at, and had the worst looks thrown my way that i could ever imagine. no, i don't think you were being a dick, but i want to make sure that people do think that i am "that guy"

| | | This place was creepy. It smelled like old dust and cow piss. Nasty. I would rather brave the elements, and at least have fresh air.
